Rebuilt the shaders and got my lines back but going to F10 and back seems to trigger them disappearing.

Maybe you are using DCS Stable Release? .. I'm on latest Openbeta and Nellis seems ok, I recorded this today:

I am open beta. Like I said initially I have the lines but them after going to f10 they disappear.

Maybe you have a User Mod that is conflicting ... to check this, if you have the time, you could rename your /saved games/dcs.openbeta/ folder, say to dcs.openbeta.bak. Start DCS, it will build a new saved games folder, you may need to login. Exit DCS as soon as the main menu is shown, then using windows, copy the /Config/ subfolder from the backup onto the new dcs.openbeta folder (to recover your configuration).

Now run DCS again and test if Nellis still has this issue. If it does not, then your previous Saved Games folder had a Mod that conflicted.

This has been a bug since like ever, it happens at random when you start or load a new mission.

It doesn't happen to me, how can you be so sure that it is not a User Mod conflicting?

Because neither me nor many others use any mods. I always recompile my fxo and shaders after each DCS update. This bug happens at randon and restarting DCS usually fixes it - it is 100% a DCS bug.

yep.

there seems to be no particular sequence of actions to make it happen. its random. but fortunately really uncommon for me. ive seen it only couple times.

I've reported that bug in June 2020 but it's still here randomly.

NTTR had a bug, where it loses the markings when it's cold (below 0 deg. C) and winter time

So ED should use frost resistant color for the runway markings! 😉

Since no one mentioned it, NTTR had a bug, where it loses the markings when it's cold (below 0 deg. C) and winter time - check that.

Interesting.

Though the mission i made in which it happened a few times is in june, with temperature of 20C. So it may not be the only trigger of the bug.
