Some simple tests apparently show an improvement of around 8-10% in 4K High settings on my monitor. Free flight Hornet Caucasus for the first 30 seconds - 102-108fps without, 116-122fps with.

Who knows, could be random. I'll do some more tests later.

I am also using in VR (as well as monitor games).  I don't see why it should make a difference if it's VR or not. If it's working, it's working.

The problem here is - as you say - that we don't know if what we are doing is correct or not.

I'm going to do some tests now.

Be interested in your findings. VR comment was purely based on the fact the original poster was using 2D and I saw no difference in VR.

I couldn't notice a difference initially but I always fly with motion reprojection locked at 45FPS. I've just removed that lock, left it as just enabled and flown the same mission without and then with ReBAR enabled. It really seemed like I was getting 90FPS locked for longer periods with it enabled and the average FPS was higher. As @imacken says though, it could just be random. I'll turn on FPSVR reports and try and generate reports for comparison when I get a chance though I suspect my presence will be required IRL for the Easter Weekend 😉

@ShaunXGood stuff, what values did you use when you had the increase?

I have mine locked at 45fps, so I don't feel there is any point in looking at fps, even with MP disabled.  In VR, it's always frame time that is the indicator for me.

Out of curiousity what are you using to lock the rate at 45 when reprojection is enabled? I have reprojection enabled but it switches between 45-90 depending on load. Are you just setting a max fps in Nvidia settings?

No, in SteamVR you have to select ‘force on’ or something like that.

Hello, I just got all the updates and notice it says No in nvidia system information and that I have to go in the sbios and turn it on. Lately I have mainly been flying VR so is this something I should just turn on just to have on or enabled. Is this mainly a gpu to monitor tool. Sorry for my lack of knowledge and to be honest I have never went in a system bios before... yikes

Same here - I no longer even display fps counter.

I think z390 is too old for rebar..   Damn, first nail in the coffin..

Strange, as my Z370 is even a notch older than yours. Check if your Support Page ( only Asus I am referencing to, see 1st post ) holds a new Bios from early-mid March 2021.

It wont say anything about what has been changed other than "System Stability...bla".

You also will need a GPU supporting this feature, not all of them does.

It depends on the motherboard manufacturer, my MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX support this feature thanks to two BIOS releases, the last one being the 7B86vHB1(Beta version) BIOS.

Win 11Pro. Corsair RM1000X PSU. ASUS TUF Gaming X570-PLUS [WI-FI], AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D, Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X 24GB GDDR6. 32 GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series (4 x 8GB) RAM Cl14 DDR4 3600. Thrustmaster HOTAS WARTHOG Thrustmaster. TWCS Throttle. PICO 4 256GB.

WARNING: Message from AMD: Windows Automatic Update may have replaced their driver by one of their own. Check your drivers.

I can! I saw a YT vid that said it was only for z490 and z590. But I do have a new bios available with rebar. I'll have to get it all flashed and see if it works.

OK so warning for all z390/i9th gen intel. I really don't understand this..... Seems as if its only 10th and 11th gen CPUs that support rebar. However I do have rebar as an option on the latest bios for my z390 board. Flashed the board, flashed the card. All fine. Went into the BIOs, enabled rebar. Then no more booting PC. Motherboard gives a CPU error. I have small heart attack.... I had to clear the CMOS and reset before it would boot again. I'm not going to try that again!

I stand by my first post.... This rebar is just the first nail in my z390's coffin. Seems ridiculous that it is part of the new BIOs firmware yet cannot be used, I mean its not like you can cross generations of CPU with Chipset so I cant ever see this feature working!

Perhaps a silly question but did you disable CSM in the bios (compatibility support module)?

I know it was a requirement for the Asus boards and rebar, but not sure what happens if you don't. Worth a shot, but it could be the 9th gen cpu. But it should fail a little more gracefully than that tbh.

Hmm. Nvidia and GIgabyte (my card and board) both say only 10th and 11tb gen cpus. But then it's in the new firmware for my board. WTF. Don't know if I'll try it again....

Yeah, it should either stop you from enabling it or fail nicely if it's an issue.

rephrase.  You DO need to disable CSM!  It's the only way it'll work.  see my sig for my specs.  BAR is working for me, but I had to disable CSM.  Lots of threads out there saying you need to do this.
