Furiz Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 What are the speeds of your RAM (MHz?) and your processor (GHz?), what MB do you have and which power supply?
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 10, 2021 ED Team Posted May 10, 2021 Hi, do you happen to have a track replay that can show this happening, would like to try on my machine. thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Taz1004 Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 I noticed that it only uses 17GB when on Caucasus and takes up whole 32GB when on Syria. Syria by itself is taking up 51GB of my drive space too. I saw that most of it was clipmap... Better Smoke - Better Trees Caucasus - Better Trees Syria - Better Trees Mariana - Clear Canopy Glass
Черный Дракул Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 Because the game is locked in permanent photo mode? They are not vulching... they are STRAFING!!! :smartass::thumbup:
silverdevil Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 what black dracula post seems to state (i had to translate) is that making the textures of objects and terrain favor eye candy not necessarily performance of the system; unless you are on a higher end computer. do not get me wrong. i love the new graphics system (ala clouds are great). yet there are many other bugs that may have been corrected if for not for doubling down on eye candy. Performance itself will depend on how overloaded one's RAM is. For me, the improvement was great, since I've got 16GB. If one has 64GB or 128GB, the increase will probably not be noticeable. 2 hours ago, RosyPlays said: with bit of visual bugs This bit is a bit of an understatement. One has to know exactly what he's doing to do this right. And how is he doing it will also determine much of the final quality. Like, while decreasing resolution, it's extremely hard to keep the edges of alpha channel solid -- and even if these are kept, mipmapping can still add slight bounding boxes, which will turn into grid over objects on long range/high FoV. 2 hours ago, RosyPlays said: some textures weren't compressed DDS is a compressed texture format. I've just attempted to compress them further. In a new attempt I've chosen the same compression format. I've uploaded a set of basic ground textures from the second pass, so you can see the result.
