Hi, im really excited about Black Shark going gold, ive been coming on these forums roughly over a year now just skimming through the posts and looking for any bit of new information. First of all id like to congratulate you guys for this wonderful simulator, there arent a lot of real good combat sims availible. But my question is, what are the payment methods ? The language barrier is really not a concern of mine, nor is the starforce protection, I encourage you guys to protect your work, but I have a credit card and I really dont want to use it, does anyone know if they would be willing to take personal check, money order, western union, cold hard cash or paypal ? Its not that I wont use my credit card, I will use it if its a last option. Thanks and regards.

i am not sure but i think there will be only 2 options, either pay with credit card for downloadable version or buy dvd from your local store. If you wish to use credit card but not your own, you have the option of the prepayed credit cards.

Just look at FC payment

There are lots of questions on the forum about payment. I have recently purchased FC from ED's website, and these were the options I had for paying.

Just remember, this was from the english language website, I tried to get a screenshot from the russian version, but couldn't get it.

And I haven't heard a confirmation that we, outside russia ( the "west" ) can even buy the russian DCS BS online. Mind you, I haven't heard otherwise either..

If it's going to arranged like with the FC, you need to mind one detail - English shop and Russian shop are not selling the same item!

Russian FC is not available for sale outside of CIS, and that could be the case with DCS. If your intention is to buy Russian version of DCS.

I think that this is confusing a lot of people and has to be properly clarified. I'm just making a guessed assumption here.

I'm selling MiG-21 activation key.

Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets.

Contact via PM.

From how things are going here, I bet we'll get a briefing on that, just before the shop goes online. I doubt the devs have overseen the huge interest of outside CIS-lers in the Russian version, so I'm sure there will be some clarification about this.

Better be soon that clarification. I hope you are right as I do wait for "only" a mere... 3 years now for this product. Will be a huge disappointment if we cannot purchase the Russian version and we have to add the extra 3 months!

Hello!

For a long time I was only reader of this great forum.

But this topic made me a writer now.

In this topic I just wanted to stat that credit card payment, I don't know why, is often thought as a method that everyone uses.

But that isn't fact.

I'm not in use of a credit card, but was anyway able to buy for example

my copy of Steelbeasts Pro PE in the States or my HOTAS Cover.

Paypal is a big option I think and as I personally lack a credit card, this would be my only option.

I hope you overthink your payment method decision :helpsmilie:

Thanks for reading,

Regards,

My understanding is that online purchases are done via credit card.

Yeah, as Airway said, credit cards aren't as common in Germany as in the US, many people use so called "EC" (= electronic cash) cards for non-cash payment from their bank accounts, that's why they don't need an extra credit card (especially younger people and students). So Pay Pal would be a welcome addition, because in Germany you can recharge your Pay Pal account via bank transfer.

I don't see such a big problem with having only the credit card as option.

A credit card (VISA) for example costs around 18 euros(without insurance) per YEAR(here in Austria) and i think you only pay the half for the first year.

And if you are shopping a bit in the internet, a credit card is mostly really useful.

Not everyone can apply for a VISA, because at least in here, you have to have a steady income, so it automatically rejects students and unemployed. Visa electron would be nice to have available though, and paypal.

from what i know everyone regardless of age, income etc can get a prepayd credit card. for all transactions it works in the same way as a usual credit card with only diference that you cant overchange it like with usual visa. this means that you get it and "put" 100 euros to it. then you can buy things that add to this 100 euros and not one cent more. so its good for online transaction without having to fear that some one will get your code etc and you will find yourself in great debt. also they are offered to minors, students etc since there is no risk for the bank.

How about "PayByCash"?

I paid through them a few times in the past, they're running a fast and smooth operation there. Most of all, they offer various different payment options. I even thought they're one of the fastest growing internet retailers, or whatever you call that branch, payment processing firms or so.

[edit]Appears both Sony and Electronic Arts already offer PayByCash as a payment method for their online stores, and many others. Clicky

I only have the ATM/VISA thingy but ED online shop wouldn't accept it the last time I tried to buy FC, and had to borrow a credit card to pay for it.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Huh. I honestly did not know that. Thanks.

But I was also trying to make a point. If your payment of choice (Paypal, Debit card, money order, etc.) isn't available, then there's always your friend(s).

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

And I doubt people would just get a credit card to buy BS if they don't have any.

I got my first credit card just so I could buy (preorder) HOTAS Cougar... there was no other option... been using it very often ever since...

I guess if somene doesn't have a credit card you could ask your parents to use theirs and pay them cash... could work also...

As said by some others in this thread, creditcards are really not that common everywhere in the world.

I think buying online gives a bigger financial cut to ED? That, combined with the fact that all my CD/DVD media somehow get broken (damn kids... :) ), would be the reason for me to buy online. Its just that I don't have a credit card, and am not planning to get one (what a nightmare if the wife gets hold of it!).

Then again, I could always ask my colleague who does have a credit card.... Actually, I still have to get FC first, so what I am I even posting in this thread for? ( :D )
