Grimes Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Nice find. Mech Warrior 4 was one of my all time favorite games and is the sole reason I got a joystick in the first place. Lets hope that Crysis gets a few more units shipped so the mod scene can really take off. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. G3 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 looks really good, running the crysis engine should put new life in an old classic
Boberro Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I like Mechs... remember when I played EarthSiege2. Cool game. Today there is no mech with present times engine and solutions. Maybe this mod will change something. But still it is not complex new game as I understood, or maybe I am wrong:)? Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
SUBS17 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 MW rocked even the first version was good for MP although I think MW 2 was the best where you could still fight if the Mechs leg was shot off. After they made MW3 they stopped using that ability it was good in MP some people would stand on one foot and carry on fighting. It would be good to see a dx10 version of MW I think it would be best to have it combine FPS and flight as well though that way after you eject you can still fight. Until you get squashed of course, if they made MW an RPG it would be quite popular as well. Slayer Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 There are some really nice videos of their mod. Looks like they've made good progress. Shaman Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 MW2 and MW3 were the best in the series imho. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
MonnieRock Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 MW2 and MW3 were the best in the series imho. I agree. MW2 and MW3 bring back memories of staying up all night playing multiplayer.:joystick: Classics. Also, the offline gameplay was not bad either. Mnemonic Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I just looked a few last videos about MWLL on youtube, this guys still need alot of work on mechs, cockpits are very poor, also an animations. Just opened movies of MW3 - it was far better. Any way, good luck to modders!
Mustang Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 (edited) Mechwarrior 5! ohhhh yes :D http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/48910/Explosive-Trailer-Reveals-Next-Gen-MechWarrior if it's true and that video footage is all ingame, well... :surprise: Edited July 9, 2009 by Mustang
RedTiger Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Mechwarrior 5! ohhhh yes :D http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/48910/Explosive-Trailer-Reveals-Next-Gen-MechWarrior if it's true and that video footage is all ingame, well... :surprise: If they do another MechWarrior...they need to do it right. No more scripted missions that you plow through and then you're done. I have a real problem buying PC games these days if they're only a one-shot deal. Make it like Oblivion or Fallout 3 with a large open-ended world IMO. ;)
Pilotasso Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 If turns out to be the way its been hyped, then I will get it. Back in MW2 I would do some out of the box mech configutations like a small mech with single long range laser and then pack it with loads of thrusters to jump into the stratosphere and blow up my confused adversaries ("where did that came from?") bit by bit. :D .
Boulund Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I'd think I would really appreciate a full blown, 3D cockpit, all out simulation of brute mechas =) Maybe I'm dreaming here, but hey, dreaming is fun. SUBS17 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 This sounds good I've used the whole series and read quite a few books. IMO Mech 2 was the best as you could still use the mech after losing an arm or leg. I think the ideal Mech sim would be one that models entire planets and space. Something like X-plane it would maybe model 12 star systems with a dozen planets as Battletech isn't all about driving Mechs the story also involves some massive space battles. It would probably make quite a good RPG in MP and a warfare mod or Arma style evolution would fit the game quite well. You would also want a game that allows for the player to go to an FPS mode as you can still fight eventhough your mech is destroyed. The movie looks cool I think I'll need a new Pc to play it though I also hope they model powered armour like the Elementals that would be cool in MP(not forgetting aerospace pilots either). CyBerkut Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 IGN has an interview with the folks working on this ("MechWarrior Rebooted"), as well as game footage. Keep in mind that they don't have a publisher lined up yet, so things are subject to change. The game footage shown was done in the Unreal engine, which may not be the end-product. They are all about the mechs. They aren't talking about aerospace fighters or spacecraft, or even elementals. Re-playability is largely coming from re-doing the same campaigns within different class (weight) mechs, and online multi-player, of course. Their plan is to do both a PC and Xbox 360 version... so I'm not expecting a 3D, click-able cockpit. Subs17, if you want to fool around with Elementals (and using your current PC), if you have MechWarrior 4 Mercs there is a mod. The NetBattleTech (NBT) league developed a mod called HardCore that included Elementals, along with making the game's numbers ore in line with Classic Battle Tech specs. I suspect they still have it available for download. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
SUBS17 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 That sounds cool are you able to jump onto the mech and rip armour off? [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
Feuerfalke Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 It's not ingame footage. It's what they want the game to look and feel like. I hope they really find a good way to go back to the simulation-style mech-games instead of the later released shooter-stlye thingy.
