Might not have forgotten but they never declared, what this label means. Could be anything from "will release in  2022" down to "yeah we announced it in 2022" My guess is something like "we wanted to give it in 2022 but due to some crazy stuff happening we couldn't do it..."

„Q: When will the DCS: F-4 Phantom by Heatblur Simulations release?
A: DCS: F-4E has been in development for some time and will be released later in 2022. Stay tuned for our full unveiling closer to launch day!“

Things change, delays happen, and the globalized nature of this biz can be interrupted by things like, oh I don't know, war.

It's time to stop trying to unravel the mystery, time to stop explaining how HB can still totally release in '22, or find some nefarious plot that doesn't exist, and accept reality: They tried their damnedest. That's all they can really promise. Oh no, our toy is a few weeks or months late, whatever shall we do?

Wait. That's all we can do.

Yes buuut still no word about the labeling so technically it doesn't need to mean anything

Not the point. Nobody has a problem if the F4 is not released this year. Nobody questioning the hard work of HB. But from my point of view it’s bad communication not to tell us that’s it not gonna happen 8 days before 2023. If they told us end of November, “sorry guys we probably not gonna make it in 2022, but Q1 2023 should be possible”, completely fine.

They should just say the new release date is Q4 2025 and be done with it. So when they have it all ready to go and release it before that date everyone one can be giddy and excited and there will be no disappointment..

I do find it odd though that as stated in the FAQ, they announced the F-4 earlier than they wanted to due to "volume of interest and questions about the F-4."  This is a similar story to the announcement of the full-fidelity A-6E module announcement from what I remember.  If a large number of questions and interest is all it takes to get a full module announcement, why on earth is there no official, "We tried guys but we're still working as hard as possible to get it to you in a ready state next year?"  I know it'll be a great module when it comes out and I commend Heatblur for trying to get it done by the end of the year but since that clearly won't happen some official communication of any sort would be nice.

Dude, why do you want to spoil our fun with your logic? 😬 😉

Remember they didn't specify in which Universe. The Phantom could very well have been released in a couple of thousand different timelines already. It's just our crappy one that gets snubbed....👽 😋

If your alarm clock fails to go off at 8AM, does it mean that it isn't morning?

well said. I am sure HB did their very best to finish it but with a war putting a few employees in a bit of a pickle and combined with personal problems (And that's just the things we know of) things tend not to go as planed. I'm waiting for the 2023 & beyond video and I'm back to overdosing on Hopeium that we will see it unveiled there.

It's all we can do, really. With them stating it's super close to finished, I'm sure it's close. Whether that close is relative to a human life time or some form of cosmic ageless being? That is the real question.

Well new in this case could be referring to an unannounced module. Possibly similar to how the F-4 gun sight was teased in the last one.

Yeah, I certainly hope to see the F-4 in game. Anything else is neat to me but can't beat the F-4 for my favorite module to come out.

The thing you're missing is this was attached to multiple other comments talking about VR, multithreading, and Vulkan and having an FPS counter in the corner showing 90FPS on a busy strip in VR.

Yeah but GlowingAmraam was only responding to the first question, not the FPS counter post even if that did appear earlier.  Still, I question the validity of the aforementioned VR, multithreading, and Vulkan being in the video because in my opinion an FPS counter in the corner and VR footage would be way below the level of quality that ED videos have.

With the amount of new features and modules on the assembly line in DCS the 23&beyond video is going to be lit any way. But I hope for the life of me that we get the unveiling of the phantom.

Like a lot of folks are saying, could be a lot of things. Could be any of the veritable SLEW of aircraft or terrains that got announced in the August-October period. The hun, the tornado, the Kfir, the Skyraider, the Hercules, or the La-7 for planes, we've been expecting Kiowa news. Sinai and Kola for maps. That or the literal HUNDREDS of options for terrains or aircraft.

But we're all rooting for the Phantom, and I really do belive it will be atleast teased with a similar, but in-game shot of the gunsight.
