Hi,

This module is a long-time lurker on my wishlist. When I last flew it (maybe 3 years ago?) there were some issues with the flight model, including such things as ability to climb to 80000 ft under the right circumstances.

I know there has been much work done in the intervening period, and I'm wondering if it is now in a better state and worthy of a buy? I had a lot of fun flying it last time, and I'm hoping the changes have been for the better. I'd really like to add this module to my hangar.

Thanks in advance!

The JF-17 is not better than the F-16; it's different. It's how you fly that counts.

Unless you're on Steam. Why don't you try it for free for two weeks?

Cheers!

I'm going to! Just wanted to hear what more regular pilots of it had to say.

As a aircraft, seems to fly fine, kind of like a slightly faster Mig 15 and with few handling nasties.  Not the most characterful though.

Absolutely. It's not just a "slightly faster MiG-15bis." It's insanely fast. Turns better than most modern day jets, and is a ton of fun to fly. The FM's also been fixed so don't listen to what negative people say about the module. They most likely haven't flown it in years or have no interest in REDFOR modules. I just hope they work on the MiG-19S they promised us.

Just flying it last night, it feels a lot better than I remember from the last time I flew it. It feels really good.

I bought it a while back and it was the only module I regretted buying. However, in the last week I've started playing Enigmas cold war server and it's my main aircraft. Really like the MiG 19. If you want it, get it, the campaign for it looks good too but I'm only just starting it.

Broke the sound barrier in a shallow climb last night, not sure if I even hade the burners on. Gonna check tonight but if it can do that, it's a beast! But yeah it kind of lacks charachter a bit, there's nothing that really stands out about it. I enjoy the old MiG-21 more, it has more "personality". This is purely subjective of course.

If they add the armor piercing S-5K rocket so many more people would fly it, esp. in pvp combined arms servers.

It seems to fire S-5KO right now

It's probably fine if you want it for air-quake, or some other version of PvP multiplayer. If you are looking for more systems depth/completion/competence, then you might find it lacking because of bugs, unrealized parts, and a general apathy with respect to completing and maintaining the module.

Please, help me change my mind about Razbam behaviour if you can: the module is out of early access since last january, and is it still having unrealized parts and lack of systems depth and completion? Are they repeating the same bad behaviour of the av-8b? Out of early access but still unfinished? And if so, how can people buy such a complex module as an f-15e and be confident it will be finished as it deserve?

This won't happen until the dispute between Razbam and ED is resolved.

Razbam are unlikely to give ED permission to include their aircraft in any sales until they start receiving their share from sale of their modules i.e.  Razbam and their coders/artists have been paid.

An exception to this is the South Atlantic Map as it seems ED is passing on proceeds from sales of the map to Razbam ?

Razbam was just a "middle-man". Not made by RB at all. Some (or all) of the same team members for the Kola map.
