It's a real shame, it's the perfect mod aside from this. It would be great if they could revisit the bronco and resolve this long standing bug. yeah broco is perfect module ! but glitch make it bad when made video movie. damn ! On 1/23/2025 at 6:00 AM, Devil 505 said: Agreed, but they cannot because the mod was lost in a software crash of some sort. They still have the 3D model I believe and intend on returning to the mod after they complete the project/s they are working on. Sounds like it might be a while before we see work on her again. I would love to see a little more functionality when they do to include troop transport/drops and more functionality in the radios and avionics similar to the A-4 mod. wht new mod next btw ?

They are doing a phenomenal job it looks like with all their stuff so I have faith when they get back around to the Bronco it will be amazing. We fly it literally every week when we are tearing up our Vietnam experience. Really looking forward to hearing what their plans are for it. 1

TAT0R Posted January 25 Posted January 25 (edited) As @MAXsenna mentioned, our next mod is the Alphajet. It is our first mod to be entirely created using 3D scans. The markings, instruments, and fonts were all made based on photos. It’s clear, and I regret to say, that the Bronco will not receive a graphical remake with 3D scans. It was developed by a single person, and today that person has other priorities in life. However, once their work on the Alphajet is finished, they might come back to the Bronco to fix a few things. That said, it’s certain that there won’t be a radio, a portable TACAN, or high-quality sounds, as having the SDK is required for those features. The A4 was borderline in terms of reverse engineering, I don't think we will go that far. But it would be great if we could have the possibility of having quality sounds, TACAN, and a radio. The Bronco can already drop paratroopers, and I don’t think there will be any additional features in that regard. Alphajet Best regards Edited January 25 by TAT0R 5 2
Tonker Posted January 25 Posted January 25 (edited) Thanks for the update @TAT0R, much appreciated. I just spent an hour or so back in the Bronco for the first time in a little while. Sure, it's neither 'perfect' or 'finished' -whatever they mean - but it's a good time! It fills a useful role in the wider DCS ecosystem too, and I'm glad I have it installed. If it gets some more love in the future then so much the better Just to chip away at my ignorance - when you say "borderline" for the A4 systems, is that simply in terms of what's possible without SDK access? I'm assuming these are so bespoke to each mod that it would be no easier trying to lift the TACAN from the A4 wholesale than it would making it from scratch for each module? FWIW, I just flew the TACAN training mission (thanks @Rudel_chw!) and it worked well enough - dialed in the station, set to T/R and got a range and bearing, which is a lot better than nothing Here's cheers to Split Air's 2025 and beyond Edited January 25 by Tonker 3 Nah, I've only just met 'er...:pilotfly:

MAXsenna Posted January 25 Posted January 25 They use functions found in the SDK.Thanks for the updates!I'm really looking forward to the Alphajet! I would never having imagined a mod team using 3D scans! Have you considered reaching out to the A-4E-C team to ask for permission to use their TACAN and radio code?Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk I think it was mentioned, but I don’t remember the outcome. Unfortunately, many teams jealously guard their discoveries. Yeah, 3D scans completely change the way we model and allow us to be much more precise. Since then, our techniques have further evolved, and some parts are highly detailed thanks to that. We still have some 3D scans waiting, but not enough 3D artists to work on them. 4 2
MAXsenna Posted January 25 Posted January 25 @TAT0R I haven't read the licensing on their Github page, while I'm positive I read somewhere they would let others use their code if credited, and have done so for other community modules with radios. I can't believe they all reversed engineered it. Just a thought! 3
TAT0R Posted January 25 Posted January 25 thx @MAXsenna i ll check that. Do you know if it is possible to have sounds? I find this to be the biggest problem for mods. 2
Tonker Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I would not have guessed that in 10 tries! Nah, I've only just met 'er...:pilotfly:

Do you think the creator of the Bronco would be willing to give what he has to another talented mod developer that may want to take it over and improve it if the current owner does not want to do so? I am sure anyone who took it over would give credit where it is do. 2

Sad to hear only fixes are planned. I misinterpreted the last comms and thought there was going to be more work to the 3D model and functionality. Thank you for clarifying though. 4
Mistermann Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Paratroopers that attack Does anyone have a script that makes the Bronco paratroopers attack enemy units when they land on the ground? I know there's a Hercules script that allows this as I've used it in Pretense. It would be great to find a way to "activate" the Bronco assault team like that. hotstick Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Thanks Morpheus for the answer I didn't expect to search for it under this term. Plus the directory already existed (I'm not smart). Edited February 23 by hotstick http://51thMassilia.net France
Woogey Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Livery collab request. I’m in the process of doing a euro 1 livery for the Bronco, but when I export as a .DDS out of Photoshop, it comes out super dark for some reason? For any of you who have already done bronco skins, could I get some assistance as to why this is happening? I’m not sure what setting is causing this. Once I figure this out, then I can pump out a bunch of euro Broncos, followed by the 3 shade Marine Corps scheme. 1
Stratos Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I'm far from an expert, but have you tried putting your layers upper on the list? I think it may be a layer darkening your ones. I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

Woogey Posted April 20 Posted April 20 (edited) I use the intel texture works .dds pluggin. Maybe I should try the Nvidia pluggin. Update: Thank you Morpheus. Nvidia fixed the problem. Euro 1 paints on the way! Edited April 20 by Woogey 2 2

All black means that DCS doesn't recognize your file, and usually its a matter of not having the proper pixel size. Make sure your exported textures are 4096x4096. Megalax's Livery Studio My Liveries in the User Files I'll stick a maple leaf on anything...
