Tengah Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I was on "loan" to RAF Northolt, United Kingdom, back in what would be circa 87/88. Two of these aircraft (in these exact colours) flew in from Germany. As aircrews were in the Mess, many questions were directed about what they were doing at Northolt. With wry grins, the reply was "sightseeing London." They stayed over the weekend. On Sunday, we decided to crawl all over these strange aircraft, very interesting, to say the least. Tried to wrangle a joy flight but to no avail. Thank you Woogey, if it is you, for painting up these aircraft in the requested schemes. Will you announce their release here? 1
Woogey Posted April 22 Posted April 22 (edited) Absolutely Tengah. I am working on fine tuning the colors right now. The paint kit has a funky colorspace, so sample colors do not translate correctly. I'll be doing standard Sembach airframes, followed by some George AFB birds. I also have my own rendition of Some Bitburg, Keflavik, and Kadena Ghost scheme Eagles in work. Can never have too many you know? In all honesty the Eagles are pretty much ready for release. -Woog Edited April 22 by Woogey 4 1

All black means that DCS doesn't recognize your file, and usually its a matter of not having the proper pixel size. Make sure your exported textures are 4096x4096. Late reply as I already fixed the problem. But it was not black. It was super dark. If you ACTUALLY look you can see my camo pattern. I have been doing Liveries for nearly 2 decades now, I am not a novice. When DCS doesn't recognize the file, it DOES NOT come out black, it comes out in a Pixelated Camo color. Also, 4096x4096 doesn't mean anything. Don't give that advice out, it is misleading. 1024x1024 works, so does 2048x2048, as does 4096x4096, and even 8192x8192. Thank for trying to help though. You are correct on the rest but not on this. If the texture is missing from either the folder or that the description.lua it will come out with the green pixel camo pattern. Thats why the green texture has the words "missing texture" all over it. However, if for whatever reason your texture file is not one that DCS recognizes even though it is brought up in the description.lua properly it will come out completely black. Try for yourself, make a texture that is 4096x4099 and call it per usual in your lua file it will turn out black. Just because you've never come across something doesn't mean that it doesn't exist or that it's wrong. Maybe after you try it out and see for yourself what I'm talking about you'll understand why I made the assumptions I did. Actually here, let me show you: I made the external 1 diff texture 4096x4099 which is a pure white dds. Comes out black. Almost like I was right... at least about that. I pointed out that it needed to be 4096x4096 because as a general rule, that is the size DCS textures normally are. You are correct that even 8192x8192 works as well as all those other sizes. If there is camo in your screenshot, apologies for not realizing that I needed to zoom into your 1000x678 pixel image which takes up less than a quarter of my screen to notice what might or might not be camo. Also apologies that I made assumptions about you and your knowledge, and I will completely eat that, I should not have worded it that way without doing a thorough background check. I’m in the process of doing a euro 1 livery for the Bronco, but when I export as a .DDS out of Photoshop, it comes out super dark for some reason? For any of you who have already done bronco skins, could I get some assistance as to why this is happening? I’m not sure what setting is causing this. Once I figure this out, then I can pump out a bunch of euro Broncos, followed by the 3 shade Marine Corps scheme. Are you sure youre exporting with the correct colorspace? You seem to have exported it with a sRGB space, rather than Linear. also, Megalax wasnt entirely wrong, if the texture has the wrong aspect ratio, it will come out completely black, as it can read it, but not recognize it. It will only show a missing texture camo if it cant find the texture at all Edited April 24 by Wyvern 1 I have 600GB in skins in my Saved Games. 200GB of that is probably made by myself. Nvidia fixed the problem. Euro 1 paints on the way! That's because for some some texture templates they were created in an alternative color space. The Intel Plugin uses a custom palette for it's default RGB color space. Generally it's ok. But if you try to export a linear color space it will turn extremely dark. 2 MACH 3 DESIGN STUDIO Heatblur Rivet Counting Squad™
vex. Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Hi, I recently discovered this mod and really love the airplane. I think the mod has great potential but there are some issues. Just wanted to ask if the mod is still in development?

Unfortunately, the Mod is not in development at the moment. This Mod has a HUGE fan base, hopefully the OV-10 might get some love once again in the future. 2
DudleyAz Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Thanks for working on this Woogey... can't wait to see it. Keep at it, we all appreciate it! 3 If it worked perfectly... what's the fun in that? :joystick:

But then you cannot even set altimeter and lack of radio for aircraft without INS is a bit setback since you miss radio navigation. Honestly, I thought prop aircraft do not talk to me and I am not interested in WW2 era at all, but this one is somehow different. It is very cool alternative for helicopters, since you can fly low and slow and enjoy the map, while still being in modern fix wing machine. Its unique combination. There is also so many possibilities for fictional scenarios and use cases. I can imagine you could load GBU-12s and carry your own designating squad with you to the battlefield, drop them there, and let them lase for you. It is very sad to hear there is no active development anymore. So much potential. More so that the most important part, the flight mode, seems to be in pretty good shape already. 2
OneEyeRoss Posted April 29 Posted April 29 The guys at Split Air have never said they won't work on the Bronco - they are just busy working on another project right now. Once they roll out the new plane, they will work on fixing the bugs. You can still enjoy flying it, and if you stay in the cockpit you won't even notice the wheels. 3

Thank you for the update, OneEyeRoss. From what I had heard, it was the old chestnut, "We lost all the files, hard drive crash, etc." Hence, the aircraft could not be worked on any further. Good news indeed that there is hope for further development after the Alpha Jet. Vex, I am not a prop person by rule either, but the OV-10 and when it is released, the A-1 Skyraider are superb aircraft with a lot of mission potential within DCS. While pretty and nostalgic, the WWII stuff holds no interest for me either. The Bronco is certainly a rare Gem. 2

Woogey Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Just a quick update, I am having continued difficulty getting the colors right for the Euro 1 birds. I will not release a livery if it is not right. Still working though. -Woog 4
