I actually thought the Sanai map had already been abandoned.

A road map is great but what use is it, if 1 its not being used or 2 not updated to reflect the current situation.
Ive been buzzing around Sanai in the apache and yes while its a great map, it needs a lot of work particularly on optimization and lighting.

I want to use Sanai more, but it just doesnt invite to being used just yet.
in my personal opinion, team should focus on optimization and how to continue this in further updates before adding further POIs

Absolutely agree!

Sinai map should run as well as Syria map. Then I would fly it all the time.

Now it similar in performance as the South Atlantic map.

Its going to happen in due time. I still remember Syria being plagued by performance and bug issues until the last couple of patches.

Thanks for the heads up OnReTech. Looking forward to your updates.

Hi

Very nice buildings, and good to know you are adding all those new airports. But, I think that more efforts should be in creating millitary stuff rather than civil building with almost none strategy importance. For example, SAM sites (altough they are the best we have in DCS), are prety standard, with almost no differences with each other. In Egypt, there are 2 EWR sites with quite particular EWR (Rezonans) that have over-the-horizon detection capabilities. But, the sites aren`t modelled at all.

So, instead of doing custom civil building with no strategy relevance, I would suggest doing custom millitary SAM/EWR sites, military bases, power plants, industries, ports.

Soooo.... no updates in the latest patch. What a shame.... I hope we one day will see it updated and that it isn't abandoned.

I had the same feeling.  I have no doubt an update is coming.  I guess when we do get an update to Sinai it is going to very substantial.

The performance has improved for me. I've only tested over Cairo but my fps didn't drop below 50 and I even got 72 sometimes (VR with Quest Pro). Before the update it was 30-45 fps.

It's not map specific - this was global DCS change.

Yes. I realize that, but it's still a big improvement.

The team are planning a large update but you will need to continue to be patient.

Thank you so much for taking it upon yourself to answer this, @BIGNEWY. Can I trouble you to relay my opinion that many people here would love it if @OnReTech also took the time to communicate with us. They made such an encouraging start with this roadmap, only to disappoint many who thought OTR to be exemplary.

It's been delayed since November.  I think we've been more then patient.  Every 6 weeks we get another DCS update and every 6 weeks we get another let down for Sinai.  This makes me not want to invest in maps.

Dear friends and pilots.

We apologize for the long update, but rest assured that we are working on improving our module (it was our mistake to make the update so big).
We are currently finalizing some scenes after our internal testing, fixing some internal bugs, and preparing the module for an update.

As planned, new airfields were added as announced in the road map. More than 90 new unique and historical buildings + some additional objects that we didn’t plan: an oil platform, new yachts, air balloon and etc... Added unique hangars for the F35 at the Nevatim airfield, as well as parking for them. Improved scenes of Cairo, Alexandria, Eilat and Jerusalem.

Thank you for your patience and attention.

I am attaching screenshots of the new update.

While Im sure the community appreciates the prospect of an update, I feel like trust is already gone and the only way to restore this would be to not focus on additional immediate content and focus on fixing some bugs even if this means that it is only a small update.

Additionally, Id personally like to see an updated road map, realistic one this time, so we all know what and when to expect what, and obviously very clear and concise communication.
We all know that development can take time and has bumps on the road, but for paying customers, we/they just want to hear that hey guys, we have an issue, next major update is pushed to xx, and the coming update will only have minor fixes ect.

That I can respect and Im sure others can too.
