There is ways of Ripping EDM from DCS, so I think thats what happened.... People are greedy

I have no idea what that is but that sucks, there isn't some way to protect the IP or copyright it tho?

Will love that, specially If we can carry some fuel tanks and A-G ordinance there.

This is a later model but it's likely we'll get this number of tanks; this leaves room for two PL-11 and two PL-8 or four PL-8 in a typical air-to-air load I believe. The J-8 we get will be very lackluster in air to ground as this was not its mission.

And you guys don't have any legal rights for this or recourse?

@uboats

Will we get more pictures of the J-8 PP specifically at some point? The amount of images of the real thing is not very high, and I get the impression you took some pictures of it yourselves.

Would love to see some pictures both of the cockpit and the outside of the J-8PP if possible!

Edit: Seems my prayers were almost immediately answered in this QnA thread

Are you sure? The Loadout chart posted shows that inner most pylons only carry PL-5. So if we take outboard tanks, and take PL-11/Aspide, you might be stuck with PL-5 only instead of PL-8

Could be true as this image is a later variant.

Hm.  Looks like the DCS Module List just posted the F-15E for pre purchase.

And yet, here I still am, in only this sub forum.

You know I will be checking the Module List every day until I see the flying pencil.

Its gonna be a loong while at a guess. Probably 1-2 years out.

I think you may be right, but hope you are wrong 🙂

Even if it is a ways away, daily checking is still fun and therapeutic to me.

I think someone said the J-8F would be retired in 2025, so potentially we might get that in 2 years.

So would that imply we would get the PP before then?

Or are the documentation rules so strict that we can only get the PP once the F is out of service?

Just speculating.

If documentation is the main hurdle, I’m still scratching my head why the Q-5 was not done first, as I am still dying for that one.  They could have done A-5 with Pakistani version, just like JF-17.  Opps, maybe I shouldn’t that, as I want a Q-5 over an A-5.

Yeah, I mean I want it sooner rather than later too, but DCS is DCS.

As for the PP, frankly I find it pretty dissapointing like alot of people, but if thats what they could make thats what they could make. Given that its basically using F16A avionics I'd rather they did a F16A (preferably an early 84 ish blk15)

Since Deka is a Beijing shop focusing on Chinese planes, it does seem to be fair or make sense to ask them to reinvent a DCS F-16, especially when one already exists from DCS.  It seems the developer teams are from all over the world so who better to build a plane for a nationality than a team from that country.  So an F-16 would be built best with the passion of its developers from the same country.  I suspect Deka would have better capability to get docs for a Chinese plane over a US plane.

Me personally, I wouldn’t want to see a separate F-16A module.  If one were to be made it should be from DCS as an add on.

There are way too many western planes in DCS already.  All the 4th gen are already covered, and now DCS is targeting Vietnam era west jets.  What fun is there to fly a WWII Corsair when there are no enemies for it?

Honestly, I think it's beyond just getting the docs. They understand the lingua franca and especially cultural nuances.

I wouldn't want to just typecast them as the developers of Chinese aircraft, but they definitely find themselves poised much better to do so.

Just want to say thanks to Deka for diversifying in DCS. Really looking forward to this one, "all" we need beyond that is some more Chinese ground assets and a Taiwan Strait map😬 and we're set.

The issue is that it is not allowed to map out China in any way. Unless you have Government permission, and that would only be one of the many issues you have to face to make an Map set in that region

Yeah, that is a good point. And likely taiwan would have the same concerns, given the whole area is primed for war.

Still way more Chinese than Su-30.

J-8II PP is Chinese airframe with foreign avionics, when Su-30 is foreign Russian airframe with foreign Russian avionics.

Looking at a different angle we are getting this variant later on we "might" get different variant with Chinese avionics. Hopefully after F15E release Razbam can release Mig-23MLA. Tease of FF Mig-29 from ED on TikTok. We are getting some non-NATO aircraft in the game. DCS World started to look like NATO exercises simulator.

This different angle?

Also, that TikTok was just that; a TikTok. ED's MiG-29 is on indefinite hold for the time being. At most, it might've been to hint towards third parties.
