I’m planning a fresh installation as my C drive’s been in the red for too long after I stripped maps out. It’s a mess. Just messing with mods is taking up a lot and I’ve yet to download any of these large packs from CH or anyone. Appreciate the work all the Modders put in though. I don’t know how they do it all. If I get it right then, when they come in big packs we can’t just install those that we use? I get CH not wanting people to be dishing them out or chopping them up but I can see the point where I’ll only either want or have space for a few at a time. Not a big thing for me, like I said, I’ve barely scratched the surface with mods looking at all this lot.

But micro-managing assets is not efficient with your time either ... take an example: lets say you employ a few assorted assets on the next mission that you edit, if you later want to share that mission you will need to tell the recipient which mod assets it needs, would you remember which were? ... most likely you would need to write it down a list of assets ... you would then be micro-managing the assets. And the update process it would be just as cumbersome, as you would need to keep track of which assets a given mission uses, then update them one by one ... honestly, it is much easier to group the assets into packs ... just one item to update instead of many. 1 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Hi, there is a script-based little software that helps you manage the assets used per mission. I don't remember its name, but should be easy to find. You can activate and deactivate also the assets following your mission evolutions with it. It tells you which assets are missing for any particular mission, and can substtuted by any core one. Quite easy to use. Enjoy.

I can fully understand your view. From the point of view of someone who builds a lot of missions. One idea would be to download complete country sets but to give the user the possibility to decide for each module which one he really wants to install. I have read here the idea of the core elements you absolutely need and install what you want. This could be in a similar way to osmge. This would fulfill the basic idea of currenthill. Those would be my thoughts on the theme.

It's a 7z archive. My version dates back one year in February 2023, and it states that it was tested on DCS OB 2.8. So, I don't know if updates have been released since then. Hope this helps. Attacking someone and saying "your comment is useless, youre mindless" is actually useless and not needed. Like many people have said here, if you don't like it, make assets yourself, or find something else. This day in age with the amount of options we have and the ever growing size of games/videos/downloads. It's time to move away from small amounts of storage and managing your storage. If you can't fit 50GB of storage on your system without issue, I guarantee you it's time to upgrade, or see what you can do to clear space. There are options whether you are poor or rich. Let's try and keep the attacking language to a minimum. You could have easily said "I don't agree with your statement." Instead you decided to insult. Have a good day. PS, Another thing to consider is that the way these assets are being put together, it is actually saving total GB size with file sharing. Edited February 6, 2024 by Chap2012 6

When that's done there's a testing phase before release.
