Correct. I try to make sure all my filenames, variables, names etc are unique. But the Karakurt was an early asset. So there might be some earlier exceptions. 👍🏻

Very close. Nowadays I spend 50% of my time troubleshooting issues caused by ED updates. It takes more or less all the time between two updates, so it's never ending. 🤪

It's part of the DCS core changes of how and when a ground asset will spot and engage a target, especially the ones without radars. This will most likely take a lot of time to correct. 😓

I believe I've been having a similar problem with how ships launch anti-ship missiles - I've had to go into the Database files, go through the Navy and Sensor folders and make it so that the ranges of the anti-ship missiles match up with all the radars; for instance, Type 054B's YJ-12 has a range of 300 kilometers, which perfectly matches with the detection ranges of its onboard radars and sensors.  I've replicated this for the majority of Currenthill's ships which partially fixes the problem but leaves much to be desired.

So as far as I know in real life a surface ship can not see another ship 300km away with it's own radar. That's why there are things like the E-2 and helicopters to provide over the horizon target data. No I understand that some ships can fire their own missiles at targets OTH without any support in DCS. This is possible, (I think) because of how some of the missile schemes work or you are firing at an "area" where the missile will then search for a target.

I was doing some testing with the stock Harpoon one and it always fired, even after I removed the sensors from the firing ship.

When a ship will not fire a long range anti ship missile at a target at the extreme edge of it's max range adding an AWACS will normally allow the ship to fire it's missiles at max range.

I'm not sure if the last update has changed this, but like I said. As far as I know a ship would never be able to fire at another ship at 300km away via just it's own radar lock🤷‍♂️.

 

Unless maybe bouncing radar wave off the upper atmosphere or something.

Hello CH! I will not tire of thanking you for your titanic work for the benefit of DCS, God grant that you have success in your business, and most importantly, that you have the strength and desire for this.

Two questions: 1. Cruise missiles of the Iskander-K complex fly so low that they crash into trees and other buildings on the ground. In other words, terrain following does not work to its full potential. Despite the fact that the X-101 and X-555 fly like jewelry. Are there any plans to fix this feature?
2. Are there plans to expand the Russian pack in the future? Buk-M3, Tochka-U, S-400, new ships?

Thank you, I'd lie if I didn't say I'm a bit exhausted from all the troubleshooting. 😅

1. I'm aware of this issue, I think I can fix this in the next release.

2. I plan to add the Buk M3 with the next Russian pack update. Haven't decided what else, but there are more assets coming. 👍🏻

Hello! I read the topic, but I didn't find the necessary information. The 9M729 cruise missile misses its target. They fly in different directions, fly anywhere, but not at the target. Is this a problem only for me? Or is something broken again? I'm sorry if this issue has already been raised.

Hey, I installed your US, Russian and Swedish asset pack but for some reason some stuff doesnt work and when I go into this view where you can see stuff up close it doesnt have any model.

This is whats inside my "C:\Users\Eico\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech" folder

I have searched the topic, but couldn't seem to find the info. Do I need to re-download the full asset packs every time there is an addition or update? Or, is there a "patch" download option that only downloads the newest additions or changes, that I can just append to my existing asset pack?

 

Thank you for these incredible assets, I use CH modules in ALL of my missions!

Hey Eico, those CH folders aren’t supposed to be placed in their entirety within the tech folder. I believe if you dig a bit deeper into them you should see a “tech” folder within each of the CH folders from the download. From there, you copy all the relevant individual assets and paste them in the “tech” folder under Saved Games > DCS > Mods > tech. 
 

In short within the CH folder you’ll kind of find a recreation of the directory you need to follow. Hope this clears it up.

The answer to your question can also be found under FAQ on his website which you can find just above this quote. But, in short ED's current Updates have significantly changed how most Guided missiles and others work and in-turn has broken not only this Mod but others that have Guided Weapons,ect. It is being worked on now but for now there is not a significant way to fix this since ED hides a lot of the stuff needed to fix said issues behind encrypted code (I do believe).

I asked A. Chizh about ballistic missiles, answers are unambiguous:

 

OTR Iskander, Tochka, Lans, GMLRS, ATACMS are on the wish list.

When we get our hands on it, we’ll do it.

Since weapons have a very sensitive effect on gameplay, we do not support modding in this direction.

Mods often cause problems for users, who begin to inundate our technical support with complaints.
This is precisely why we will not support it.

Haha, thanks for the info! If they actively supported modding (it's known to happen in the real world), maybe there would be less issues for users to complain about?

And pointing towards imbalances in gameplay doesn't really make sense looking at the core game inventory. Maybe it's just me, but I've always had a hard time listening to game developers telling me how I should play the games I buy. Especially sandbox based games.

To be honest, if it wasn't for the community producing amazing mods, I'd probably not be playing DCS much. The mods that we have keep me interested in the game during the long periods between feature and content updates. I created my weather mod because 3 years after introducing new cloud tech, ED hasn't done much with the weather.

Hello,

 

I DL-ed the AIM-174 mod from the Currenthill site for the Hornet, and am trying to install it with the Ovgme thingamabober, but I'm not sure which files to use. The OVGME thing doesn't want to import anything, zipped or unzipped, as a mod. 

 

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
