MT fog bug

Just tested MT versus standard version, and in the MT when taking off with either the F16 or the A-10 with very mild fog setup, the whole ground becomes overcast in fog from cockpit view. External view remains unaffected. Performance wise I got a substantial increase

With this multithreading update, I have noticed an issue where the ground is invisible, however only inside the cockpit. This is due to the fog settings in the mission. It appears that the fog is completely opaque in-cockpit, so it covers up the terrain.

Here is a clip:

The issue was resolved when I removed the fog from the mission.

Not sure but I think this is in-line with your observations regarding fog. In the instant missions (MiG-21bis) take-off, the cockpit interior and immediate area ground is fine, but beyond that the entire world is bleached out or obscured completely. Here's a screen shot .....

Existing Campaign mission with slight fog set (14,310 ft vis only 394ft depth). Persian Gulf.  IN MT version VR and Flat have very thick band of dense cloud. Image attached taken at 6K, it should not look like this and fog is hardly noticeable in standard version.

Yes apparently it is a problem with MT. Ok with me in standard OB.

  • Hog_driver changed the title to Abnormally bright environment (seen from the cockpit)

The Multithreading instance generates a visual problem when there is FOG.

You can check it in the Instant Action mission "Syria Intercept Convoy"
I attach the images:
1. In-flight image with surface visual problem.

MT-1.png
2. Image of the meteorological detail of that mission in ME.

MT-2.png
3. Image of the modification, eliminating the FOG

MT-3.png
4. Image of the result in flight.

MT-4.png
5. Image of the same mission in the Single Threading instance.

Yes, I'm seeing this in this mission as well- makes it almost unplayable

Yes, will have to play in normal OB until ED fixes the fog. It’s a problem generally not just this mission.

Whats the chances I'm flying Mission 9 too, as MT comes about. I'm in part 1, and taking off into a featureless green fog from the cockpit.
I can only see terrain below 200 feet.

Performance looks OK.

It may just be the lighting of this mission. Even without MT in 2.8 there is a lot of green washout, but it doesnt blanket the whole map like MT does. These screenshots in VR from non-MT session.

Also on the same note the dust smoke has no effect, no matter its setting in the ME, it never appears once mission is launched. After the latest update testing showed the fog problem is still persistent
