I wasn't planning on sharing this as it's too big but there were some requests so here it is.  Please read all instructions and notes. Many of DCS textures are needlessly large.  Wasting VRAM and

Included lua edit that optimizes Clipmaps for all terrains.  This should save couple more hundred MB of VRAM again at no quality loss.  Since it's lua edit, it's very small download. DOWNLOAD

Since it's a Root file change, after your words above, I'm not wondering if that is the conflict and cause of the FPS issue I experienced. 

That mod is not texture mod.  There is no conflict.  Again, use mod manager and it'll tell you when there is mod conflict.

So, install the Update Core 6-8-23 after the "Optimized Core" set, right?

If you've been keeping up to date with the mod, yes.  If not, or if it's first time using this mod, Optimized Core, then both updates.  5-18-23 and 6-8-23.

I'm doing it this way to save bandwidth.  So I don't have to upload 15GB each time and everyone don't have to download 15GB each time.

Can I just disable the mod and drop these new files in my Mods folder overwriting the originals and then re-enable the mod?

The F-15E cockpit texture is pretty okay in terms of optimisation, it seems. F-14 is the one need works.

All of them.  Windows temp, your browser temp (not cookies and passwords).  If a download always fails at same point, it might be the unfinished download in your temp folder is corrupted.
