Bones478 Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Can anyone help? My F10 map is stuck on full zoom out on multiplayer severs only. I am unable to pan or zoom in. The number pad zoom didn’t work nor the zoom button on the top of the tool bar on the F10 map. This happens so far on Growling Sidewinder WWII and both Hoggit servers. Can’t seem to figure out how to fix it. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or know how to fix it?
razo+r Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 And what about the mouse wheel? Does that also not work?
Mr_sukebe Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Just so we understand, do you mean that the map is always fully zoomed out when you first open the map in F10, or that once you've opened the map, that you can't zoom? 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
Bones478 Posted April 12, 2023 Author Posted April 12, 2023 My first time pressing the F10 map, it’s at a normal zoom. As soon as a scroll the mouse wheel one click, it zooms all the way out. Past the grid system on the map as well. I’ll submit a quick trak to this thread if that helps.
Bones478 Posted April 13, 2023 Author Posted April 13, 2023 So looks like all I can do is a server trak which doesn't show when I hit the F10 Map. Nor sure what else to provide.
Proper Charlie Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) Does your F10 map look like this? I get the same problem in one particular single player .miz file where you can't use the mouse wheel to zoom the map. In my case I guess the mission editor saved some strange map zoom/pan values, but I am able to fix the issue with the zoom buttons in the map (it also goes away if I re-save the .miz file). Bones478 Posted April 18, 2023 Author Posted April 18, 2023 It only happens to me in multiplayer. So maybe it’s a sever issue
Gremlin17 Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 whenever i connect to a MP server now, the first press of F10 takes me to an extremely zoomed in map, probably showing about 100m x 100m of land. Is this normal?
Bones478 Posted April 18, 2023 Author Posted April 18, 2023 Can you zoom in? Does it happen with every server? And no it’s not normal. And it’s only certain MP serves that it occurs with me.
draconus Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 What I heard is that ME saves the last view state of the mission then you start with that state in first use of F10 view. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Slippa Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 I’ve noticed this for a while. When I get the map up now, it’s already zoomed in to maximum zoom. I can scroll it back and forth but it resets when I come off the map screen. Back in cockpit view if I go to the map from there, it’s zoomed right back in again. The map screen used to default to a reasonable half-way sort of zoom, I could zoom it back and forth and go back to another view. When returning to the map screen it used to be zoomed to where I left it last. Much better like that given my lack of skill in locating small targets. Should change my username to ‘Orbits’ the way I’m going. Would be helpful if someone could put it back the way it used to be.
Bones478 Posted April 21, 2023 Author Posted April 21, 2023 That’s good that you can still manipulate the map. I can’t do anything with it.
Bones478 Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 Yes tried that and no luck. But thank you. Again it only happens on certain MP servers. GS WWII, and hoggit. Gray flag and 4YA WWII it doesn’t happen. It’s weird.
FusRoPotato Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I've had this happen a few times on Marianas. Mouse wheel out far enough and boom, it just gets stuck on full zoom out. Sadly, I can't remember what I did to break out of it. Center on player perhaps? I have a feeling it has something to do with how the mission was saved from the mission maker.
Solution Bones478 Posted May 4, 2023 Author Solution Posted May 4, 2023 I found a fix. There is a button in the top tool bar. I have to hit it a couple of times, then I can use the manual zoom tool button, then I am able to use the mouse scroll wheel as normal. Annoying but fixes the issue.
Slippa Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Could you elaborate a little please, which button was it for map happiness?
Draken35 Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 @Bones478 Can you elaborate please? Which button are you talking about? I started experiencing this issue today, VR/MP. The other client was having it too. Sinai Map, heavy mission
Robo Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) I think I gottit folks! - Grab the Zoom+ boutton on the toolbar - Click AND Drag to zoom on a rectangle area - Everything should work normally for your session. Voilà It's probably an issue for people with bigger screen sizes or non 16:9, only on servers. If someone wanna raise a ticket, it's an easy fix I guess... @KiwiOz @Draken35 @Slippa @Bones478 Edited November 20, 2023 by Robo 1
Flappie Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) I've seen this yesterday in MP as well (Syria, 3440x1440). Does it happen for all maps? Edited November 20, 2023 by Flappie ---
Draken35 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 It hasn't happen to me in quite a while (Since June, Sinai map)
Flappie Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 I need to find a way to reproduce the issue in order to report it. If you know how to get stuck in full zoom out, please tell me how. ---

If you know how to get stuck in full zoom out, please tell me how. There is a mission attached a few post above... In my case it was VR , MP and happened 3 or 4 times in a row in the same mission (I no longer have it). IIRC, the only thing needed to reproduced was to open the F10 map. Might be "mission" related
