perfect time to bring bf-109 G6 in to DCS

now that normandy2 is released 

i think there can't be any better time to bring bf-109 g6(the most produced 109) than now

it was present at the battle of normandy

flying k4 over normandy felt always a bit out of place

it's like flying dora over battle of normany 

it just feels awkward and not right

allied have 3 new aircraft coming (hellcat,corsair,la-7) and on top of that there's recently released mosquito

we need more axis planes to make the battlefiled more authentic

and it would be nicer if we can have F/g8 model for fw190

so axis can have proper gorund pounding plane just like p-47 jug does

me-262 is in my second wish list after g6

Did the G6 model carry more ammo?  My only pet peeve with the K4 is that it seems to carry just little ammo.  Id be having great fun in the middle of a dogfight conserving my ammo like all heck and seem to run out in no time, ending all the great fun!  All the other warbirds seem to have a reasonable amount of ammo.

  I really don't want to do the "unlimited ammo" thing but I may have to  when I replay Reflected's great K4 campaign in its new updated Normandy 2 version. When playing that "other WW2 sim"  which has a number of 109 variants, I never fly the K4.

The G6 with 20mm nose cannon has 200 rounds vs the 65 30mm in the k4.

That said, I actually think the  E models are far superior killers. Later models might be faster and have more power. But 2 20mm in the wings is just more effective than 1 in the nose.

yes it did carried more ammo

and also two additional mg151/20 were often attached to the both wings as a field modification

E models had mgffm cannons attached to both of the wings which carried less ammo than later F/G models single nose cannon mg151/15,20

But two guns gave higher rate of fire than 1, about 1100RPM for the E vs around 600- 700RPM for the G. 

There were complaints when the F model showed up that it was undergunned. And at 300-400mph rate of fire is important.

That complaint came about the 15mm cannon they used in the first place, later on changed with a 20mm one and it was better.

Anyhow, those wing mounted cannon pods in the Bf109G-6 came also at the expense of not being very much able to dogfight any more. Those were bomber interceptors. I don't get why people are so willing to have two extra guns at the expense of not having a fighter any more .

Well if they can't do more than one at a time, don't forget they are already doing another one, the F6F Hellcat! 

In any case, both the G-6 and 262 would be good although the 262 fits the trend of late war aircraft better, but the G-6 would be excellent for Normandy.

i think it's for cosmetic reason

109 with those two wing mounted guns looks deadly

Wrong sim.  I was referring to that other WW2 only sim.  It features a 109 g6 and you can shoot it all day long!
