Roadmap unofficial thread youtube creators spam.

I really liked the idea of limiting posts on this Unofficial Thread, where we can see latest news, I really loved it since we were being spammed with everyone posting whatnot in the thread. Thanks for saving us from those posts.

But now days I click on the thread since it has new posts and those are not news, nothing new is shown there only YouTube creators videos.

I mean latest post is from a YouTuber teaching how to drop laser guided bombs using unreleased module... why is that even a thing? I don't see news there, they are only spamming news thread with stuff we already know,

news WAS that F-15E is in pre-purchase, news WAS that it will use certain amount of weapon types, we already knew that months ago. So I don't see anything new here.

Please moderate this thread so it provides news only.

@Furiz You can check the all roadmap..... Always I post all youtube videos by ED and / or some youtube channels, and all references about modules... I dont know what is the problem now with a "F-15E RAZBAM" videos. I dont go to moderate my post only if someone dont like the some videos.

It's SD's thread, so it's up to him what to let pass.
That said I have pretty much lost interest in it for the same reasons.
I follow various DCS content creators for specifics. They seldom release news.
But that's me.

@Silver_Dragon And you did very good job with this thread, you always posted ED's and 3rd party posts/videos which were showing us new stuff being added,  and every time Roadmap thread lighted up I gladly clicked it cause I knew I'm gonna see something new, some announcement or some new feature being added, but at the moment there are lots of videos from some youtubers that don't show anything new.

For example TPOD video, from Razbam (cool we didn't see it yet) that was news, then again from another youtuber thats not news anymore, then Ground Radar from Razbam (nice, didn't see it before) then from other youtubers same ground radar with their unprofessional guide on it and probably full of mistakes, its getting spammy like facebook feed,  I'm losing interest on it, probably others too as MAXsenna mentioned.

Roadmap is, I believe, about new stuff being added to the roadmap correct?

ED videos and 3rd party developer videos are announcing new stuff, but other youtubers are not, it's just their guides on systems and various stuff, most of them don't even know whats going on there, but that's another topic.

Anyways Radmap thread is being spammed by youtubers... no real news or roadmap additions.

Just ask yourself, what feature have you added to roadmap from Casmo or Grim Reapers or any other youtuber for that matter (other than ED or 3rd party developers)?

 

I am speaking out cause I really like the Roadmap thread but it's becoming spammed with unnecessary posts, and no news and it was really good source of getting info in one spot.

Well do whatever, it's your call. I tried to leave some feedback but whatever. I'll just do what MAXsenna is doing, follow only ED and 3rd parties that I'm interested in.

No need to be offended. @Furiz is just voicing constructive criticism because it seems "the road map" thread is not up to the high standards it used to be.
But all things comes to pass. I stop watching various TV series or content creators for the exact same reasons.

In ten years, no one has bothered about this post... since always, everything was posted and there was no problem, but funny, now the critics of RAZBAM and F-15E do not like certain content. That until now, everything I and others posted on Roadmap was approved by the moderators of ED (yes, I do not have any moderation control, has Nineline and Bignewy the moderation control from some years ago, by my request, by past nosense discussions on the post), and now, I have to impose censorship because the work of content creators. From now on I wash my hands, I'm sick of these senseless wars.

Imho the pain comes from the fact, that a lot of people would like to have a (rough) release date of Razbam's F-15E. Watching what others do with the Strike Eagle would only be "bearable" if we knew when we get our hands on it as well.

(I exclude notso's videos, because showing how things work for me is usefull before release. Showing how much fun it is for many, many others before I get it? Not so much. But I'm still not offended by all this. I'm patient. Just my 2 cents that might help understanding an maybe help motivating @Silver_Dragon just a little bit to continue the superb job on that thread of all those years!)

I like to see YT creator or any kind of news in that thread. So that I can track any kind of development news in a consolidated single thread.

@Silver_Dragon I don't understand why are you changing your method for only a few members asked to do so. You are bringing info even from Russian sources. Keep it up man..

I for one don't think that it has anything to do with the F-15E, but rather with the "spamming". Since that thread is somewhat of a collection of "what's coming to DCS" (between now and heat death of the universe), I don't like seeing everyone's and their mother's tutorials posted there, devs posting million of the screenshots showing they textured yet another 9cm² of the cockpit... It's cool for someone, but does it need to be in a roadmap thread?

I think that thread is very useful for getting insights when something meaningful is mentioned. Like, new modules getting announced, devs and moderators commenting on meaningful topics (I guess not a lot of people monitor russian-speaking part of the forum which can be gold mine of information), you know, things that are roadmap worthy.

If people want every single mention of anything there, you can just close the rest of the forum and have one big mess of the thread. That thread is one of the few I have on my watch list, but it's kinda disappointing to get a notification for it, only to see a tutorial video posted on million places already

I have to agree, I have unfollowed most of the youtube channels that have been spamming this content. There really is no place for it.

I now fully understand why Heatblur are radio silent on the F4 and Typhoon.It's clear now that they don't want to have the applied pressure of content getting out and people spotting unfinished features and then starting a whole speel about it.

Youtubers just care about the views not the audience

I'm with @Furiz here.  Previously an update to the roadmap meant some genuine news or an announcement, and was met with some excitement.  Now it is just another content creator sharing their videos of what we already know.  If I want to follow a YouTuber, I will follow them through that platform.  The roadmap thread should not be the place for free advertising of their channels. We need to fix the SNR on that thread and move back to news.
