Soulres
-UPDATE- Can confirm you can use the 'Export' feature and manually put a weapon on that pylon, if you try to edit the loadout in anyway, it will disappear. applies to both A10c and A10C-II attached picture for proof. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You used to be able to have weapons on Pylon 7-6-5 but now its only 7-5 or just 6. This a bug or "update"? As old custom loadouts still Work unless you try to change them, then Pylon 6 or 7-5 disappear. No it doesn't work if you do it in the .cfg Yes it works in SP and MP as long as you dont touch it. No default loadouts use Pylon 6. Solution razo+r Posted October 27, 2023 Solution Share Posted October 27, 2023 It's an update (last line): Also, old loadouts often disregard the updates because they are... outdated. Same example with the F-18. We had once upon a time a single launcher for single AIM-120. After an update, that has changed to a single AIM-120 on a double launcher, but old loadouts with the single launcher can still put a single launcher on the aircraft because they haven't been updated.

ED Team BIGNEWY Posted October 27, 2023 ED Team Share Posted October 27, 2023 Station 5/7 are not to be used when station 6 is in use. As I understand it this is correct and prevents interference from stores / weapons when 6 is loaded. 2 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Thats the observation but, if you dig around you *Can* find pictures of these stores being used...So was this "Update" just made upon someones recent observation. Seems kind of odd that 3 (EagleDynamic) Generations of A10a, A10c and A10C-II from 2009 to 2023 would have missed something like that when the documentation was fresh in their hands. 1

SMEs have commented on this for a long time, probably since the release of the A-10C module. It was always up to us players and mission designers to use more realistic loadouts - or not. In the same vein, the old LAU-88 triple Maverick launchers aren't used nowadays because of the types of conflicts fought in recent years (decades, really), and also because Mavericks on the outer rail could potentially be harmful to a TGP next to it, and on the inner rail they could potentially damage the landing gear on launch. I'm not sure it's explicitly prohibited to use such a loadout, but these days why risk any kind of damage or degradation when there's no good reason for it? AFAIK station 6 blocking 5 and 7 and vice versa is pretty much set in stone. I wouldn't be surprised if there was Test & Evaluation happening to check if the restriction could be lifted or modified, and if you have open source evidence to that effect, it would be very welcome. I'm sure resident experts will correct me on this if I'm wrong, but the photo above sporting the OT tailcode could belong to a jet of the the 53rd Test and Evaluation Group, which would be exactly the kind of jet you'd see with unconventional loadouts. Long story short, ED implemented a long overdue payload restriction. The fact that old payloads still work despite breaking this restriction just means the game doesn't break or crash or CTD or do any other nasty kind of stuff, which is a good thing in my book. Just replicated the exact same loadout from that picture... No problem, no restrictions. shagrat
You can tell by the fins on the fuselage, that the Mk-82 AIR are on station 4, 5 and 7, not 5, 6 and 7. So the "proof" only proves the restriction is correct. 2 Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)
