Absolutely... this is a necessity!! Trying to see the HUD while flying due East in the morning sun or West in the evening sun is ridiculously difficult!  Wouldn't be so bad if the Viper could display the HUD on one of the MFDs like the Hornet or Mudhen. PLEASE consider adding this! The way Razbam did was perfect!

IRL, I sometimes had to fly with my Randolph's on underneath the visor of my HGU-55 because the tinted polycarb visor wasn't always strong enough to kill the glare of early morning/early evening sunlight!

Will the visor get functionality like putting on sunglasses in the cockpit? Right now it only looks cool in external views.

I really like the new pilot model, but I miss the "sunglasses" effect too. So it could be added in the near future. At the moment the HMCS is animated which means that it can be folded up and down should be added "sunglasses" effect in the future. (i hope)

+1  It's a real shame that you see the animation of the visor being lowered, but it has no effect in the game. Surely you can change that quickly? Please do it.

Hi, similar topic is here, however visor is only animation for the 3D model of the pilot. No any effect from pilot perspective (in VR). I dont know it was planned or not, but it seems rather logical option that it should work, as in several other modules like OH-58D or F-15E. Its a kind of problem and it was noted in March’24. Please to add working visor for 2D and VR too, animation + effect. Many thanks!

Just one note. The visor in the F-16 is closely tied to the HMCS, meaning that if it is up, the HMCS simply does not work. Generally, there should be 3 options for the visor (just idea):

1/ clear (the indications are visible) as default,

2/ darkened (the indications are visible too)

3/ and fully up (no indications) 

Currently the only difference is the animation on the outside and the disappearance of the JHMCS symbols.

The insert should be replaceable (so here are 3 options).

Yes exactly: on neither the F-16 nor the F-18, the helmet mounted sight is modelled correctly for that exact reason.

But we also have the older style helmet (not default, but can be selected in the ME). There the situation is simpler: visor up or down - with the default being down as shown on the external 3D model of the pilot.

While the HMCS helmet may be a bit of a problem, in the case of a classic helmet, such an option should be available along with the effect on the image from pilot's view for the user (darker).

Here is also a good example, where you can see that the front cover is quite light, in my opinion this element is replaceable (depending on time of day, weather and theatre of operations), from darker to lighter visor (depending on time of day, weather and theatre of operations). I know that they are also cut to fit the pilot.

Our F-16 doesn't have any visor (yet). There are only goggles for nite vision.
