It's very good to be retired, and my wife is still working. You can fly an F-4 all day, then eat, sleep and fly again. And when you get tired of F4, you can fly anything. I even fell asleep in flight when I flew for 15 hours in a row.)

Well, if I single handedly stemmed a project this big, he would shut up, give me a raise, and all the time I need….. but of course this isn’t some random task for a single employee but a complete different animal.

Cut it already with the „if I would blow a deadline like this“ comparisons - they don’t hold water. 

Regarding your original question (giving you the benefit of doubt even though I‘m pretty sure you’re just trolling) - time of action for any release regarding DCS is usually afternoon/late afternoon central European time. So the 22nd is too fresh so far.

Most Managers are Brute Force Hard Chargers. Brute Force is a last resort Manager practice. Keeping a team on Brute Force all the time is bad management. Rushing Testers cause the Developers eat the schedule is also bad practice.

At least for me it's the delay of just a couple of hours. If they said it like 2 or 3 days ahead, still awful, but okay, <profanity> happens. But I wouldn't think anywhere in my mind, that the final checks are just done a couple hours before, I thought at least an evening before. 

And if it would be from the beginning the 22nd, I guess no one would complain

That's not a good analogy. A better one might be: "I need a suit now so I will buy one ready made and hope it fits ok" versus "I need a good suit and I am prepared to wait for it to be tailored so the fit is perfect".

I work from home most of the time. The temptation is very strong but thankfully patch releases are usually later afternoon for me so I can finish working as the patch downloads. If the release was early morning it would be a lot harder.

I cant think of anything worse than dragging the day to day crap I deal wiith into my cave. Tempting as it is sometimes given the woeful state of my corporate IT. It would also mean more use of MS Teams (shudders). I await the day some overpaid bright spark decides Discord is the future for our inter team coms.

The delay is clearly @draconus fault. He set May 22nd as the patch date already 4 weeks ago!

I really hope ED will be careful the patch comes up and works right out of the gate. I really do. If VR does not work again, I am going to lose it.
