ED should pull the update and reverse to the previous working patch.

Odd - it's working fine for me.

Not a major complaint. I'm sure it will be worked out.

But isn't there a single internal tester that uses VR with Eye tracking and Quadview?

Since Quadview just doesn't work with this patch. A single tester with that setup could have told ED about it.

Or was ED aware but didn't have time to fix it, as they needed to get the patch our?

Don't know if it's down to the beers I'm getting through but it seems to be improving the more I restart the bloody thing?

After I don't know how many tonight, restarts, as well as beers, it just asked me to install FC3 stuff. See how this goes. I'll open another one :drinks_drunk:

G2 VR user and have no issues at all with quad views. Maybe it's just with those headsets with eye-tracking?

Very limited time testing as I had to isolate the MiG 21 flight dynamics file through my virus killer as it was flagging up a false positive (those unauthorised error messages!) and that messed everything up which took a bit of time to work out and fix. Not sure on the point of the SC Air Boss to be honest, think it will be used once or twice then forgotten about. But I did notice my Tomcat was missing a lot of the model when viewed from this view, like undercarriage, pilot and RIO. Other aircraft looked ok.

Well G2 doesn't have eye tracking. So that shouldn't affect it at all.

No, hence why I asked if its just eye-tracking headsets. Everyone keeps going on about quad views having the issue but that is false as its working perfectly well.

Quad views isn't just for eye-tracking headsets.

Do my old eyes deceive me or has Caucasus map become dead sexy with this update?  I just went river racing, and it was the best flight ever.  Just when you think it can't get any better.  Well done, ED! 😎

Quad views isn't just for eye-tracking headsets.

This is literally what they themselves say Quadview does

This software lets you use Eye-Tracked Foveated Rendering (sometimes referred to as Dynamic Foveated Rendering) with your Pimax Crystal, Meta Quest Pro, and other headsets supporting eye tracking via OpenXR in games using the quad views rendering technique like Digital Combat Simulation (DCS) and Pavlov VR.

Quad views isn't just for eye-tracking headsets.

The G2 Omnicept version has eye tracking.  The PG map is a good place to test, especially when the city lights are on.  The lights show the quadviews effect quite dramatically with their aliasing.

But... it also works for non-eye tracking headsets like the G2. I'm not making this up, why would I? Been using it for a few months now, gives me 40% ish fps gain.

So this isn't a blanket "quad views issue" like reported on this forum a few times as mine on my G2 is working fine, it's something that involves the eye tracking.

Edit: to be clear, the G2 has FFR using the Quadview app and I can use the companion app thing by Tally Mouse to change the outer and inner resolutions, but not the size. Openxr is disabled for DCS as gave no extra gain.

Feel for all of you guys with issues. Why the FC3 verification slipped is beyond me, while I have all the individual modules in it so I was not affected. Not that I really use them anymore though.
Only issues I've had. Needed to update Quaggles, but he had it fixed even before I installed the new map. Lots of axis bindings lots. Minor issue.
But the new map. THA MAP! It's truly AMAZING! Hopefully Kola and SA reach this level we're in for some good times. Only wish would be for the ground clutter to pop in further away, and somewhat better tuned transition zones of the texture from distance and altitude.
I'm over all VERY HAPPY!

I have...what, almost 400 bindings to mess up?  It takes about an hour and a half to get the setup done on a complex aircraft.

FC3 I can live without, losing the F-5, as some apparently have, would be irritating.  Really want to take some of the updated mods out, really, really want to look at the map, but I had already planned to sit on this for a while to see what's still borken.  Might be worth waiting for the first or second hotfix, give or take the reports from the front.

Glad you're flying happy!  :drinks_drunk:

Once I get past this frozen launcher I'm hoping to do some happy flying myself.

You tried the old deletion of fxo & metashaders folders trick etc

This release is ignoring my Saved Games\DCS folder (set by a blank "dcs_variant.txt" file under the main folder) and creates a new blank one called "--restarted"! How can I set it back to using DCS folder?

Thanks!

Once I disabled the new Launcher to start (there is an option for that), it did go back to as before and my Saved Games\DCS is now recognized. Great, but goodbye to the Launcher!

Now, I can test the only thing that matters to me; has the hard freeze of PC that was introduced with the Phantom release fixed or not. Prior to that, I rarely had any crashes or freezes. After that, in MT, I pretty much experience a freeze every single time I run DCS, and in ST, roughly about 20%-30% of times.

No. But assuming I can find them I will.

I appreciate you jumping in to help. Thanks.

Well, I didn't plan to fly every module today. Has happened from time to time before, so I usually fix it whenever I hop into one. Seems only axis are affected for me. Pretty easily fixed. The Viper was all fine, while the Mi-8 had lost some.

Well, that is interesting.  I've seen commentary about F-16 and AH-64 missing a single axis each.  Your viper is fine but the Mi8 lost one.  Seems like there's some variability.

No go, I'm afraid. Deleted both, and still getting the frozen launcher.

Hmmm... Could be depending on the hardware I guess. The Mi-8 lost more than one, and reset one to default from a slider.

And since the game won't start, the folders are not being rebuilt.
