  • Mission 8. The error of the object destruction zone, leading to a texture bug, has been fixed.

DCS: F/A-18C Inherent Resolve Campaign by Looking Glass

  • Mission 13 - Operation Kayla Mueller. Mission overhauled. Improved target sets and mission flow. Improved gameplay, order of targets. Fixed bugs preventing progress.

DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign by Sandman Simulations

  • Missions 9, 10 and 12. AI gets stuck while refueling - fixed

DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign by Sandman Simulations

  • M2 – Missing voice line added

DCS: UH-1H Peacekeeper Lebanon Campaign by Flying Cyking

  • Mission 01. Adjusted ADF Almirante Lynch Frequency to 380Khz to Avoid overlap with Gecitkale overlap. Adjusted Kneeboard with new frequency. Adjusted Voice Overs with ADF Frequency. Rework of approaching ship VO, taken out the black smoke advice. Smoke is white now. Subtitle correction. 
  • Mission 05. Further Hover Trigger adjustment. Switched off Nav Radio by Default in Hot Start Version to avoid annoying beep beep tone. 
  • Mission 09. Checked Camp Marjayoun rearm function and resaved Mission due to some players seem to have problems with rearming at the camp. Cannot reproduce.

DCS: F/A-18C Arctic Thunder Campaign by Baltic Dragon

  • M01: added safeguard to encounter with Backfire; added clearer instructions for the player during intercept phase 
  • M02: fixed a bug with mission stalling when Rovaniemi air defences take out enemy missiles; fixed several floating statics at Vuojarvi airstrip; fixed missing tower call. 
  • M03: updated placement of some statics at Vuojarvi; fixed Bullseye waypoint number on the kneeboard. 
  • M04: fixed placement of some statics at Vuojarvi; removed debug message; updated placement of objects at the hill (last part of mission)

DCS: A-10CII Iron Flag Campaign by Baltic Dragon

  • M 1-5: Updated most subtitles for better consistency; updated manual reference pages.

As this update is ONLY concerned with campaigns, is there any reason to download it if one does not own any of the campaigns? 

I guess what I'm asking is, is there any other component in this download that is necessary or beneficial?

If you fly multiplayer, you'll need to be using the latest patch to get on a server. Otherwise, probably not, though the 'download' won't take long anyway, since it won't download anything.

I don't really know what that means, but I've never missed seeing an update before, even if it took a few hours to appear.

I'll give a bit, and maybe see if it downloaded and I missed it somehow, and then I'll do that. I'll check the update in the game too.

I dont have any ETA yet, I hope we can share news soon, its going to be a big improvement. 

Sure hope us helicopter transport pilots can actually see them in the back of our helicopters when we transport them into combat.  As a Huey and Chinook enthusiast that would be great news, at last.

Dear @BIGNEWY, I asked this question in some of the DLSS topics but didn't get any answer yet.

It seems that DLSS 4 Preset "K" is a very huge step forward for VR users, its quality is exceptional.

Unfortunately right now we can only "hack" this version into DCS by DLL changing and for another question you replied that the devs will work on DLSS 4 only AFTER deploying Vulkan.

Of course there're some blurs (mainly in MFDs, mirrors and fast movig dial numbers) which could be mainly caused by the lack of proper support on DCS side.

 

But it seems that the performance and quality of DLSS 4 Preset "K" even in its unofficial state is so massive, that it needs URGENT attention.

May I ask if this timing has been changed? If your origintal statement means that we're just mere weeks away from Vulkan, then it's OK, but if not, then IMHO the devs should really prioritize the full integration of DLSS 4 before anything else, it's so revolutional - especially for VR users.

Being fair to ED, applying the preset is actually a 5 min job once you find the right video to explain the process correctly.

Hi, 

we are not ready to upgrade DLSS yet, but it is something we are discussing internally. I have no ETA's for the release of vulkan yet or DLSS 4. 

It is probably not the news you want to hear and we are unlikely to match your desired timeline, if you are using DLSS 4 currently with success that is good, but at the moment it is not officially supported.

Sure, I'm also using it since day one.

But - as I understand - the mentioned visual bugs can't be eliminated without full support on DCS side (proper motion vectors, etc.). When DLSS was a new feature in DCS back in the day it was plagued exactly the same problems: think about the smearing of the F-16's fuel flow gauge's fast rolling numbers or other objects with higher than normat persistence like the slow, fading changing numbers on MFDs. But these were ironed out there almost perfectly by the DCS devs.

Now with DLSS 4 Preset "K" some of these are back. And these are the only quirks which is a bit annoying.

Otherwise the overall quality of the image and the performance in VR is way higher than anything I was able to reach in the past. Its such a pure joy to fly now!

The latest Nvidia Inspector allows you to pull the latest DLSS .dll directly from the Nvidia driver installation, i.e. you no longer need to replace the DLL inside DCS install folders.

I think that it was this one:

 

The basics being:

  • Install the latest Nvidia drivers 572.16 (if I remember correctly)
  • Download and unzip NvidiaProfileInspector (latest version).  Doesn't matter where you put it as it'll update the core driver
  • Run NVPI
  • The video shows a listing of various settings, and what most confused me was that I didn't have that full list.  There's a button on NVPI, I think that it's around the top right of the App, which shows ALL settings, not just the standard ones.  Click that and it expands the list
  • Within NVPI, update 5 settings
  • Save

That's it.

Introduced a new terrain module: DCS: East Afghanistan Map by Eagle Dynamics

  • Added method for IR missiles seekers to react on flares before missile launch (from cockpit). Each module needs to add usage of this functionality separately.
  • AI Aircraft. Aircraft without RWR will be able to detect incoming missiles only visually at close distance, not BVR.
