StewJW Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Unsure which version of the A-10 DCS is working on? How much will this cost? How realistic will be the start-up (ramp up) sequence? Are their any official plans to expand the detail around the Blacksea or release a totally new map when the A-10 is released?
Acedy Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 The next module will be the A-10C, and you can expect it to be very realistic. There is a 3rd party group working on a Nellis terrain that Eagle would like to ship with the product as a training map. ED Team Groove Posted July 21, 2009 ED Team Posted July 21, 2009 The realism will be as real as a simulator can go. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Feuerfalke Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 The cost will be like normal PC-games, I guess. As to the new regions or maps: BlackShark already contains additional regions, but they are not finished, yet, it seems. Maybe they will come with the new addon? On the other hand, we'll probably see the Nellis AFB and the surrounding training ground in the USA. It is planned or rather hoped to implement that for the coming A-10C module. As always, you'll see no definite answers on these topics, until they are 100% safely in the next release (or not). It probably will be another few months to confirm that though. StewJW Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the replies, this is a good forum. I'm looking forward to the A-10C. It will be nice to have a bit of CCIP bomb toss action, and be able to go into a steep dive without your rotors coming off. The A-10C also has a big gun, I am sounding very sad. element1108 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it'll cost very closely the same as DCS Black Shark. I can't imagine they'd go more expensive and possibly rule out those who are unsure and who's deal is broken by the price. $39 was $20 below what I would have assumed Black Shark would have cost...so $39-$69 and not a penny more. They could charge more for a "special edition" or a "professional addition" as mentioned above that had a few more features perhaps that the standard version doesn't have. Who knows at this point, I'm just patiently waiting until August to hopefully get some updates/producer notes on the HOG. :book:
Betting Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 To be honest, I think the greater majority of people here on these forums won't care very much how much it costs. As soon as it is released they'll just go out and buy it.
Boulund Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 As far as I've understood several people on this forum has already bought copies of Black Shark so I also think that the price isn't really the issue. I guess most of the more interested players are on a steady income as well, not like producing a game aimed at younger people with tighter budgets. joey45 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 as long as I have a job to pay for it when it comes out then its in the bag. McVittees Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Am I right in thinking that, currently, the size of the detailed terrain area in BS is restricted by game engine being coded as a 32bit app. Once it goes 64bit then a larger world is possible. Distiler Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) But if you own already a module of DCS (in our case Ka-50), next modules will be cheaper. They said it in the dcs press release in october 2007 "It will also be possible to purchase each aircraft as an add-on at a reduced price for consumers that have already purchased a "DCS" module." They might have changed their mind though. Edited July 22, 2009 by Distiler AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
