Ghostrider 147 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I just wanted to thank the developers of the Corsair for creating such a beautiful module for DCS. The Corsair has been my absolute favorite aircraft for many years - I'm sure that I'm not the only one this applies to After years of flying the F4U in WT sim battles I found myself longing for a more accurate representation of this legendary aircraft and since some of the teasers published around 2019 I found myself excitedly waiting for the DCS Corsair! And now in 2025 it's finally here! I've taken the Hog out for a couple of test flights now and I just wanted to say WOW! What a gorgeous looking aircraft with amazing texture work and plenty of beautiful liveries (including some to roleplay -1 and -1A Corsair models!!). The flight model feels so detailed and rich as well, I'm not a real pilot but it certainly seems to check out compared to the stories from the pilots that actually flew these birds. It flies beautifully in DCS - my first flights really felt exhilerating and quite honestly made me sweat a little! This Hog is certainly gonna make me practice my stick 'n rudder skills a lot more! Can't wait to make some proper missions for the Ensign Eliminator It was worth the wait and certainly worth every penny - again, thanks so much for beautifully representing this legendary fighter in DCS. Of course, some screenshots below! 19 2 CPU: i5-13600k // GPU: RTX 4070 // MoBo: B760-PLUS // RAM: 32GB DDR5-6000 // Stick: VKB Gunfighter Mk. III with SCG grip // Throttle: VKB STECS Mini // Pedals: VKB T-Rudder Mk. V
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted June 19 Posted June 19 It's a temperamental beast, a bit twitchy, but it rewards good airmanship like all other warbirds. Still, it is the Ensign Eliminator. 6 1 Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
Kovacs Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Hey, I'm agree, this plane is gorgeous !!!! Thanks the developers, i'm in love 3 1
Peq Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Thanks for the Corsair I just can't describe how I feel. Terrific job! 2 1

And thx to Magnitude3 for an amazing job they have done of this outstanding WWII warbird. Incredible work. Edited June 20 by skywalker22 3
Surrexen Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Plane is gorgeous for sure. Looking forward to future improvements. 1

Andrew8604 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) Dear Magnitude 3 (and Vought), Thanks!! It was a long wait. But now it's here, and it sure is cool! 1st flight... took off and landed ok...on land, in the Nevada map. Carrier ops later. Edited June 21 by Andrew8604

Spurts Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Thank you for all your hard work on this. Nailed my first carrier landing today, and survived re-launching as well. Got her up to 39,000+ft (oil temp was redlining even with open cooler at 300 knots true 155 indicated). 1
FSPOT Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) I have been in awe of the Corsair since I was a kid. I was so happy to see it join the warbird stable in DCS. I bought the mod the first day it was available. I thought it was beautiful then and I still do. I wanted to love it, but I don't. The handling is not good. It flies like it's tail heavy. It just waddles around the sky. The roll rate is horrific, and it doesn't respond with any sense of urgency to the throttle. It feels reluctant to turn or to climb. The training missions are glitchy. And I have these random engine failures. It just stops, and for no apparent reason. I have every other DCS warbird mod and am happy with all of them. That being said I confess that I had my struggles with each of them. Like any machine, they each have their quirks and foibles that have to be understood and overcome. The high speed stall characteristics of P-51 for example. Anybody who flies it knows it will depart from flight with little warning and it sucks until you get a feel for the onset. But I don't see me getting a feel for the problems with the F4u. Every flight ends in frustration and disappointment. The mod seems fundamentally flawed to me, but I still want to love it and am hoping that Magnitude will keep improving it. Edited 21 hours ago by FSPOT Incomplete sentence 1
