MAESTR0 Posted September 19 Author Posted September 19 The update pays special attention to the islands, each of which has its own airfield, ready for use in missions: Alderney Island is the northernmost of the Channel Islands. Guernsey Island is an important strategic point. Like Jersey, the island became part of the Atlantic Wall. Jersey Island is the largest of the Channel Islands, with an area of 116 km2. From July 1, 1940 to May 9, 1945, the island was occupied by Germany. The islands' challenging weather conditions and interesting locations can add variety to your missions. These additions not only visually enrich the game world but also provide a wealth of new flight opportunities and interesting missions—whether taking off from the limited runways of island airfields or operations around iconic fortifications steeped in history. 10 5

gulredrel Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Great additions to the Normandy map. Thanks for the preview. 2
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted September 19 Posted September 19 (edited) Thanks for the great addons! Please remove all trees within airfield boundaries and remove trees on the Cliffs of Dover. Thanks! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Cliffs_of_Dover#/media/File:ETH-BIB-Küste,_England,_Kreidefelsen,_Dover-Inlandflüge-LBS_MH01-007494.tif Edited September 19 by REDEYE_CVW-66
Cowboy10uk Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Wow, Dover, Calais and Now the Channel Islands. All areas deep within the reduced detail areas of the Normandy 2 map. So is this your way of letting us know that you’ve now expanded the high detail areas significantly. Is the entire map High detail now? either way I’m very very impressed with what I’m seeing. original areas are shown below and everything that has been shown above is clearly in the reduced detail areas. 1 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot

MAESTR0 Posted yesterday at 03:33 PM Author Posted yesterday at 03:33 PM (edited) Hi fighters Today we invite you on a virtual tour of the streets of Paris, which we had the pleasure of creating for DCS: Normandy 2.0. These pieces of living history will make your flights over the French capital truly unique. Moulin Rouge A legendary cabaret, a symbol of Parisian nightlife and cancan. A striking landmark in the Pigalle district. You've seen it in films, heard it in songs, and now you can stop by during breaks between flights. Or maybe it's your mission target – during the war, performances were held here for German officers. Palis Garnier (Grand Opera) One of the most famous opera houses in the world. Its gigantic stage and underground lake inspired Gaston Leroux's novel "The Phantom of the Opera." During the war, its cellars housed works of art from the Louvre. Palis Galliera A neo-Renaissance palace, today home to the Fashion Museum of the City of Paris. Pont de Bercy A bridge reminiscent of a Roman aqueduct, built in the late 19th century. An important transportation link in Paris. Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor. An elegant pedestrian bridge over the Seine, a favorite place for strolls. Originally called the "Solferino Bridge." Père-Lachaise Crematorium on the grounds of the famous cemetery of the same name. It was the first crematorium built in France (1889). Its chimney, stylized as a bell tower, was a unique architectural feature. Stade olympique Yves-du-Manoir (also known as Colombes) is a rugby, track, and association football stadium in Colombes, near Paris. From the 1930s to the 1970s, it was one of the main stadiums in France. Edited yesterday at 03:34 PM by MAESTR0 10 2
MAESTR0 Posted yesterday at 03:55 PM Author Posted yesterday at 03:55 PM ... Amuse-bouche. A little surprise for you. This isn't just a video—it's the result of painstaking work recreating architectural heritage, transforming the map from a collection of landscapes into a living, breathing world of history. France under your wing! 11 3

Thanks UGRA for your effort and dedication. 3

It's different times, I know. But all historical buildings, land marks, and most bridges will be the same. Madpie Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Yeah you’d have to leave the channel map out because that’s EDs product, but having Berlin and London in the same map would be amazing, especially if it covered the bodenplatte airfields. Idk how it would go with the curvature of the earth being made flat for such a vast distance. Hopefully it would be easy to use the CW German landmarks and mesh and add a liberal amount of rubble across the cities. I’d certainly pay for a Normandy 3. 1
