CyStriker Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 James Hallows: Nice post:<) I wonder if TM is also working on an ICP unit for the F16 to work with the MFDs? It would be great to be able to allow the mfds the ability of selecting one of the five primary pages (top 5 buttons) and the 5 submodes (I think the bottom buttons)? The side sets of 5 buttons ... as in manual. Add to that a extraction utility to port the mfd screens (a 7" samsung is available but I would prefer a 4:3 format with low ms) to the mfds (less than 6 ms delay) and maybe a DED (Saitek seems best position to provide this) .... and we have a limited desktop F16/A10C etc cockpit that would not cost a fortune..... Feuerfalke Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 No further news on the Warthog (or X65)? I think you don't have to wait much longer. January 7th - 10th is the "CES2010", a (gaming) consumer oriented exhibition in California. I bet that's when we are going to see at least some news about the TM HOTAS and hopefully also about the CH alternative and maybe even DCS: Warthog? :) MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD

digital_steve Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Any news on the ETA of this setup? I'm holding off getting the current cougar HOTAS to get this setup and am dying to know when i'll be able to get my hands on it! Tbag Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 As mentioned before, January the 7th is the most likely date we'll get some kind of update on this setup. I'm curious about the price tag! [/url]"Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so." - Douglas Adams

Feuerfalke Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 As I posted before, there are some freeware-tools to extract the pictures, jocko417, instead of making "screenshots" of the running animation. ;) Just remember copyrights. Revvin Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Absolute Max £200 - Probably less. You surely must jest :) For all the money we spend on kit over the years whenever a new HOTAS is talked about the price is always expected to be peanuts nevermind how high end it will be but still include every possible feature under the sun, oh and release it yesterday. 2010 looks to be shaping up to be a good year for flight sim fans
Pilotasso Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Its an upper spike on a descending trend. Lets treasure it :D .
CyBerkut Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Its an upper spike on a descending trend. Lets treasure it :D You may very well be right... but I hope not !! :( I don't know though... with the controller companies coming out with some serious products, one has to wonder if they have a little more to go on in *their* crystal balls. We had a long drought in the combat flight sim genre, but there appears to be a confluence of several factors that may keep things looking better for some time to come. - smarter companies that have the benefit of learning from other's mistakes in the past. - at least one company that has configured itself to leverage military/government contract work. - hardware that has outstripped the current programming utilization by a significant margin. (When the programmers start making fuller utilization of the multiple cores and GPU computing power, it's going to be a beautiful thing!) - an environment (the internet) and software tools that enable cooperative programming from disparate locations. You don't necessarily *have* to put all your programming aces in one office building anymore. Time will tell. Many things in business are cyclic, so that is to be expected. The overall trend remains to be seen. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Total Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) The X65 is a Force Sensing joystick (not FFB). While that's a good thing as it's reflective of most current fighter sticks in reality, The release price will be around $400. That's about $200 more than I'd pay for a joystick. I'll stick with my X52. It works and it's cost effective :D More info on the X65 here: http://saitek.com/uk/prod/x65f.htm Edited January 4, 2010 by Total
digital_steve Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I'd rather the HOTAS Warthog... looks to be much heavier and sturdier. AMD Phenom II 965 BE @ 3.8GHz, 8GB OCZ AMD BE RAM, ATI HD5970 2GB XFX BE @ 875/1215, TM HOTAS Cougar, TM Cougar MFDs, TrackIR 5, CH MFP, GoFlight Switch Panel, iMo Mini-Monster Touch, Mimo 720S, Saitek Pro Flight Headset
KrUEgER888 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 +1, and I think it would cost about the same as the cougar. ( which is already enough for a joystick) my 2 cents. grtz I dont drive fast, I just fly low:pilotfly:
