kobac Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I hope that they had considered a wish list. Best of all it will no longer be a need for LRM. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
nemises Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I think the implication is that they have maybe 3d'ised some of the cockpit elements , but that they wouldn't necessarily stand up to full motion freedom?...enough to see paralax from a protruding object, but not enough to be able to look Under a console.. just guess work though..
asparagin Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Firts of all great news! Great idea! Q: I'v seen the improved engine in DCS:BS, and what the demands especially for CPU are, when flying a slow aircraft. LO:FC 2.0 will run fast jets in the DCS environment. That means faster changes of situation (situation = not only grapical surrounding but also physics). Is this a real factor, you must already be running FC 2.0. Best regards! FGSchtuzer Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 As noted in Russian thread FC 2.0 is DCS:Black Shark with Shark itself cut out (it's a separate product) but with all flyable crafts from earlier FC (the textures are taken from DCS, since they are better) + improved flying model for Su-25. Very rough interpretation, so don't ask more questions. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team Groove Posted November 18, 2009 ED Team Posted November 18, 2009 FC 2.0 will run rather smoothly on Georgia map. I think a big chunk of that CPU cycles on DCS:BS were used for the FM and the cockpit. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
RHK111 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I suppose that the mission created in editor FC2.0 will be editable under editor of the DCS:BS ??? Salu2
Renato71 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 When a friend told me about this topic... I almost started to cry out of happiness :) Thanks ED guys! PS - nothing to add, apart for one more vote for hard copy DVD for installation/activation :) I'm selling MiG-21 activation key. Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets. Contact via PM.

borchi_2b Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 THANKS ED and matt for the announcments. will 3d artist like me get new tools or can we still use the old once then for our 3dmax ? this is something that i am really interested to know, cause all the other important things were allready covered greets borchi (aka boom boom) p.s.: lets see what we can do about the simmod a10 if there will be any possibility to get it back for FC 2.0 http://www.polychop-sims.com
topol-m Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) The whole thing is nice. I`ve got several questions though: 1. What kind of compatibility can we expect from the different modules? For instance - when DCS:A-10C comes we will have datalink in the hog. Will it be possible for the F-15 from FC 2.0 to transfer data about targets detected to A-10C and vice versa? 2. Will this compatibility between FC and DCS be established in long terms? Will it exist along with the new DCS: "Fighter" modules that are going to be released in not so long future (I hope)? 3. Are there plans to continue improving different aspects of FC with future updates? 4. Are there plans to consolidate the Lock on/FC/Updates in a complete product the way DCS:BS already is and DCS: A-10C will be? Having to install/buy Lock on/FC/Updates seems a little bit unpractical to me. Instead releasing a FC 2.0 as a separate, stand alone product even if this would require some increase of its cost would be a good idea, especially if you just want to play 2.0 and don`t need Lock on or FC 1.12 and don`t want to play them. Having to buy whole thing all over again when i already own LO:FC seems unpractical to me... and probably thousands of other users too. I would just simply not buy it and wait for DCS jets. What you need to realize is that FC 2.0 is an update patch to FC 1.12
GGTharos Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 What you need to realize is that it's a huge upgrade to FC. ;) What you need to realize is that FC 2.0 is an update patch to FC 1.12 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

I would just simply not buy it and wait for DCS jets. What you need to realize is that FC 2.0 is an update patch to FC 1.12 For me also it would be not acceptable to pay for corrected LO:FC but IT IS compatible with BS and supposedly many features (interface example) like in DCS: BS. This changes situation A LOT. It is worth to buy. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
topol-m Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 It just looks like a packaging question to me. It can be sold as it has been announced, an update, but it would be nice if a possibility for separate purchase of FC 2.0 is added as well. If I`m a newcomer I would like to play the latest and greatest :D I mean why would i need Lock on if I just want to enjoy the new features, and the upgraded realism FC 2.0 will offer. So for "separate expansions haters" like czarnyolek - an update, for newcomers - separate game = everybody wins :music_whistling: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) You are forgetting that UBI still own Lock On (LOMAC not LOFC). Any all in one product would require giving UBI a cut. EDIT:- actually ED should consider a Packaged bundle of separate items, with everything needed as a Package deal. eg LOMAC, LOFC & LOFC 2.0 for a something like €30 or whatever. This could Bypass UBI as the Lomac being sold would be from the Budget Distributor "Focus" http://www.focusmm.co.uk/shop/Lock-On-Air-Combat-Simulation-pr-1268.html Nate Edited November 18, 2009 by Nate--IRL-- Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
joey45 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 so have an update from 1.12 - 2.0 [patch] for $15 and a 2.0 complete for $30 for new commers. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Aeropush Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 so have an update from 1.12 - 2.0 [patch] for $15 and a 2.0 complete for $30 for new commers. Sounds like a win-win for all involved. So can it be done by January?
DanKurt Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Great news, but I am also not a fan of downloaded software. I would like to know is this going to be the same as DCS as in so many installs before license runs out?
connos Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 WOW great news. I didn't bought Lock On but I will definitely buy this and everything else coming from ED after my experience with Black Shark. That's the point I'm making, they can't sell a 2.0 complete, because of the original UBIsoft deal. What they could do is offer the separate products as a bundle.
