There have been some cases where other objects in the mission cause texturing conflicts. Dr_Watson Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Some bugs I found recently. -Enemy pilots ejecting when missle still has at least 10-15 seconds to go before impact. -Random firing missles when no lock aquired, I was scanning for targets, x2 AIM120B's fired, I switched to 9M and seemed to have a lock on something infront and was able to fire at it but was nothing there?? I have the track for tac view. - UK Tornado version is GR3 which never existed. - The F15 RWR often shows "29" no matter what type of enemy it is, seems to have got stuck on 29 after I was flying some practise BVR against them, changed enemy to various aircraft and still 29.

I don't think that's really a bug - if you know a missile is going to hit you, why would you hang around? :) Which aircraft have you seen this happen with, and against which missiles? I haven't seen it myself but I almost exclusively fly the A-10 so... :) I have noticed this in F4:AF though and I thought it was a nice touch.

Your sidewinder was locking onto the previous launched missiles heat signatures. Its not a bug. The radar on board of the Su-27 and Su-33 is based on a enlarged version that the Mig-29 uses, they all got similar electromagnetic signature hence the fact your TEWS gets all 29 warning is not a bug, its a feature. The signals are all similar but the strength is not. The Su-27 will appear to be closer than the 29 because its radar signal power output is greater. The major bug in this patch is the fact the F-15 radar gives lock and launch warning to the target in HOJ mode. This is indeed a huge bug and needs to be solved. Also like others mentioned, after reloading the aircraft, the F-15 recessed missiles will fire forward the same way as launch racks, instead of ejecting the missiles downwards as it should be. I set up blue and red teams so it was USA against everybody else, that way I get to practise against all types of opponents. The missle I fired was a 120C, the F16A ppilot ejected 14 seconds before impact. Maybe Tacview has a bug but it shows 2 parachutes which seem to just fly into the ground as if the chute wasn't open. - Regarding the missiles firing on their own. I was flying CAP over a bridege which was going to be attacked by x2 F4E with jammers escorted by x3 F5's. I saw the (pardon my terms) the F4E on the radar but they were jamming. Now I can't remember if I locked the jammers in HOJ or not, I don't think I did, but without pressing anything, a 120 came off the rail and went ballistic, then 2 seconds later, another came off the rail, I quickly switched to 9M before I lost them all and then as its been mentioned, the 9M locked the heat from the 120's. Why the first 2 went I have no idea. I have both tracks in Tacview

nomdeplume Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) Weapon cycling bug Found this with the A-10A, haven't checked other aircraft. Loadout has 6 MK-20s in stations 2,4,5,7,8 and 10. Additionally, station 9 has 3xMk-20s in a MER-3. Station 3 has 2 AGM-65Ds. When you switch to ground attack mode (7), the 6 x cluster bombs are selected. If you cycle, the next weapon is the Mavericks. 3rd cycle, you get the 3 Mk-20s on the MER. Further attempts to cycle weapons simply switches between the 3 Mk-20s and the AGMs. There's no way to select the 6 other Mk-20s until you've released the 3 on the MER. Addition: if you fire the Mavericks (leaving you with the 6 + 3 Mk-20s) then the 6 bombs become the selected weapon, and you are not able to select the 3 (i.e. cycling weapons does nothing). So I think the game is generating three groups of weapons: the 6 bombs singly-mounted, the 2 Mavericks, and the 3 bombs on the MER. The default selection is the 6 bombs, and they cycle in order, but it skips any weapon group which is of the same type as the currently selected weapon group. Edited May 30, 2010 by nomdeplume

The 25t, its wingtip landing lights work, but sometimes they extend and the lights look like they are shinning, but they dont actually light anything up, thus if you happen to do a night mission and the bug strikes, then you wont be able to taxi as you cant see sheeit. The nav lights work ok, its just the landing lights that seem to be affected by this bug, sometimes they work perfectly and other times they seem to be working but dont actually brighten anything up, and it makes taxiing at night basically impossible. Also, not sure if this is a bug or a conflict, but sometimes out of nowhere, my external view of the plane wont work, its like something else is trying to control it, I think its a fight betwen trackir and my mouse, but tir isnt setup to control external views. I am not sure if its a problem/conflict with TIR5 or not, but I have deleted all of the TIR5 entries ingame except the ones needed to control cockpit view, up, down and roll, just 3 tir entries ingame, I also deleted all the mouse ones except horizontal view and vertical and zoom views and I also deleted every single joystick entry ingame, so I doubt its a conflict as everything is deleted and the litte amount of entries that I do have are mapped singly and dont have anything else mapped to that command, whether it be joystick, mouse or tir5, just one accessory for one command. Also, a Vulcan fired 2 stingers at me, not sure if its meant to do that in FC2, but I sheeeeeit myself, I was coming in about 100 feet or so off the deck, I had the vulcan locked up and all of a sudden I see smoke, like you would if you fired a missile, for a second I thought I actually fired, but I hadnt and I only realised it was a missile when a second one exploded behind me taking out my right hand engine, I immediately pushed f6 to see WTF was happening and lo and behold the first stinger that missed me was still airborne, then I realised that this vulcan was not only firing bullets, but shooting missiles aswell. The only things that were on the map were 1xVulcan and 3xM1 Abrams, there was no SAM threat that I know about present. That only happened once and it was during the weekend, saturday I think, or possibly friday night. Also one more, when contacting tower with the F6 command, the list of commands that show up after you push F6 to contact the tower, the F3 command is missing, it jumps from F2 F4 and there is a blank space where the F3 command should be. I have installed the game 3 times, checked the hashes on the downloaded game files to make sure they were ok, which they were as the hashes matched, all 3 installs suffer from the light bug, the crazy external views that I think has something to do with TIR more than anything else, its sporadic, but I am sure TIR is causing it, and the missing F3 command. All 3 installs suffer from the same problems, although the vulcan only fired missiles at me once and was probably a glitch more than anything. Using win7 64, installed lockon as admin and in xp sp2 compat mode or it wouldnt install due to a dll file, then installed lofc2 plus its patch as admin. Edited June 1, 2010 by bumfire
nomdeplume Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Does the light bug affect both the taxiing and the landing light (i.e. near and far modes)? Are you sure there weren't MANPADs near the Vulcan? They can be very hard to see, after all... In Black Shark, F3 requests a control hover, so the sequence is: engine start, taxi to runway, control hover to test everything's okay, then request a takeoff. Obviously a control hover is not applicable to fixed-wings, so the option isn't present. But I guess they didn't want to confuse pilots who fly both games by moving the other keypresses around. For the view problem... what joystick setup are you using? Does it have a "mini-stick" that can be used to control the mouse? Maybe that's playing up in some regard and sending spurious inputs to the game?
bumfire Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) 1, 98% of the time the lights work fine, 1-2% of the time the lights will extended and they look like they are working, in both near and far modes, but they wont light up the ground. Near and Far both affected when this happens. 2, no other Units were on the map, It was a quick mission I setup and flew to test a new JS profile and since the missile fired went past my pit on the right and under my wing, it actually made me think I had fired a missile, because the smoke it left looked like it would if I had fired. 3, I havent played BS since I installed win7, but your answer explains alot and is obviously correct :) 4, It could be the case that the ministick is conflicting, like above, I would say this happens roughly 5% of the time, everything will be fine and then all of a sudden the external view stutters like something is trying to control it one way and something else the other way, so the external view is moving quickly left and right. It can happen anytime during a mission. Just to add, I have deleted every single joystick control in the control pages, except the axis controls and zoom, the rest are mapped via sst and ministick isnt mapped to anything. I have deleted all of the mouse modes except horizontal and vertical and zoom views, which are needed for external view control. And I have deleted every TIR5 Control except the 3 that I need, I dont use tir for zoom, I use my X52 slider for that, so only 3 TIR and 3 Mouse and 4 joystick axis and 1 zoom control are mapped to the controls, everything else is deleted. After being damaged i return to the airfield, request landing, get clearance from the tower to land on runway 07 only to find out that when my wheels hit the runway, i get a "go around, runway occupied" message from the tower. But there is nobody on the runway, nor is somebody else landing (since i'm the only one in this misson).
