Which key is the Master Arm on/off for the A-10 in FC2? I can't find it anywhere in the key commands listing. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I can't even pull up the gun to fire the gun. It just stays in NAV mode.

Press "7" for AG mode and then "C" to switch to cannon?

remember to hold rAlt+Space for a brief moment.

Yea thats a biggie, I was pulling my hair out tryng to figure out why I couldn't fire missles or mavericks. Then I discovered you need to hold down

the button for a couple of seconds.

I highly recommend doing all control mapping in the game Input Options manager, and not external controller software.

Wags,

Why is that? I us CH gear and use CH Manager for the different sims I have (BS, Rof< IL-2, etc) and that has worked fine in the past. Also, unless I've missed something, I would have to do this for EACH ac in FC2 whereas I can seup one CH profile.

Again, I'm curious as to the basis behind the recommendation. :book:

Thanks,

- Take advantage of unique setup for each aircraft. Yes, it's a little work up front to set controls for each aircraft, but it allows you to best assign inputs to the aircraft type and it loads those assignments automatically when you fly that aircraft. Much better than having a single "global" profile, or having to manually change input settings. For A-10C and how the HOTAS system is set up (true modal), I think this will be the only way to assign inputs.

- Avoid any possible issues with other controller programming software

Wags,

Thanks! Now to go re-read the key command list and see what all I missed.

Sorry but can't agree whit ya there Wags.

I have used Saitek SST profiles for DCS BS, FC1.12 and now FC2.0

and there is no way i could achieve the same flexibility in the options menu as whit the profiles.

for example almost all my buttons have different functions in all 3 modes, how to recreate that in the options menu?

I think a better statement would be to just make separate profiles for each aircraft, either in game or the profiler software of your HOTAS.

Though, having separate controls lists for each aircraft in options menu is something i like alot. Means i can set curves and saturation lvls for each aircraft independently. Which i like a lot

hmmm, still cannot fire mavericks.

bombs & rockets work fine.

i lock a target with the agm and hold the release-weapon-button but nothing happens.

First I was surprised, but now I really love this system, and I could do all the things I need with internal solution....

Talking about freaking out about the firing, I tried and tried and tried, to find out that my fire button was bind by myself to change weapon :joystick::doh:

If bomb release in the A-10A i working fine for you, then your are just not holding down the weapon release button long enough for the Mav.

I really like the new system too, yes I'm biased!

You can also assign modal keys to to allow multiple function assignments to a single key.

I used SST previously and it worked well enough to set up the profiles for the different A/C. But... it was a pain to program and was very finicky with shift keys etc.... Buggy to.

This new system is great, I set the pinky switch as a modifier and I can program everything I need and still have some buttons left over. I had to switch a few things around and it did take some time to reprogram but it's done. Printed a blank SST profile printout (thanks Saitek) for each A/C as a work sheet to make it easy to organize.

Wags, i can agree that there are unique setups for each aircraft needed. I would not expect otherwise but...

But i never found any ingame control input as flexible as a programmable HOTAS (Cougar in my case), not even this one in FC2.0 (or BS).

What do you do with options like Press/Release, hold modifiers, delay options, multiple toggles etc... in your ingame control setup?

Also, and this might be even the biggest problem, how does your ingame controller deals with different keyboard types which generates all the wrong keycodes for my setup. I still wonder why the Windows input routines are not used (although i must admit that only a few games do so) so that the game directly recognises the correct input depending on the Windows keyboard setting?

Therefore, i prefer my HOTAS controller. It might be a bit more work but in the end it pays off...big time!!

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

Those of you with X52 Pro... you do know you can change SST profile at any time using the clutch button? I have separate profile for each aircraft and switch them during flight if I wanted to. And with SST, I just duplicate the profile, then make minor tweaks for each aircraft. Quicker than setting it all in game profile.

Just to give my 2 cents:

They are really needed in FC2? I see the need in more complex sims like Falcon 4 and variants, or BlackShark.

You're missing the point. By assigning the joystick buttons directly to the game functions, there are no character conversion involved. The game reads directly from the joystick state. You can even use joystick buttons as modifiers (pink switch) or multiple modifiers at the same time, without the hassle of Ctrl, Alt and Shift mix and mess.

However, I had to do two things in the SST programming software for the X-52:

- Setup bands for a slider to emit + and - keys. All the aircraft but the A-10 have an axis for the MFD Range (shkval zoom, or radar range). But the Mav zoom in A-10 can only be done by keys.

- Setup one joystick button to emit the keycode for teamspeak, since the game doesn't have built-in VOIP.

Guys just to get back on topic here.... Because id like to know myself too...

Is the "Master Arm" command still present in FC2?

Because none of the replies answered this simple question... :music_whistling:

Can you elaborate on the blank worksheet you printed with the SST program. I need to make something like this so I can help recall everything I programed. Thanks
