topdog Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I've checked there from time to time but never saw it at amazon.co.uk (last time I checked was about 24 hours ago!), I did notice that thrustmaster refers to them as a reseller for the UK but that's just general info nonsense and not specific to the product. I was guessing it may have appeared at other amazon.location sites since the stocks aren't always the same. Were your pre-orders cancelled? You should still have a link to the product page if it hasn't been. Succellus Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I will wait for next year, i m not taken by hype anymore... I live on a country where it will not be officially sold, so it will probably end up costing around 1000,00 USD with shipping and taxes. Beside that theres a big letdown from TM. No support for their RCS which is still hand down, even after 15 year of discontinuation, the best and most confortable non pro rudder system avaliable. Especially after installing hall sensors. When they appear on e-bay they are sold as high as 200 - 300 USD. Not even a USB plug to integrate....lame. And they say they don t know what to do for RCS Lamer, liers.... If they were redesigning Hotas with such complexity, the obvious step was to bring forth rudder integration and have a complete sistem as the other companies have. Even because "opfor" are bringing similar and more "complete" hardware for much less. "passion" factor aside, TM is presenting itself as an underdog and understhinked. Hotas public is still waiting for "diversification of handles" to match other vectors, which was what the USB in the handle was for. They just throwing a big hook with a small bait and see who will gobble it. I would buy the throttle part without thinking, but why buying a stick i already have ? With on the top of that no rudder integration ? for 500,00 USD ? What a joke. Reset warning system/ BB off. Callsign.Vega Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 You want them to include a plug for pedals that haven't been out for well over a decade that maybe .001% if their purchasers would have? Feuerfalke Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Why would you want to plug in your USB-rudders in you Stick or throttle? To be able to configure it with your software? Succellus Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 1) I am welcome to the 21Th, lol, good to know. If all is to be integrated USB/Software, then why force the customer to re-buy a stick he already have ? Why not sell all separated ? So he can have the configuration he want, all throught their miraculous software ? If you come saying that this way things work better then why not integrating a USB port for rudder, that really not complicated... There s no winning angle, wherever you look at it, the buyer is a looser, its a calculated rip off. 2) As for the gameport issue, i m well aware the market have gameport -> USB device so its no big deal. But have they shown any integration via software from TM/ non TM hardware ? A really plug without pray ? On the bright side the Cougar owner can use the stick base as connector for rudders...lol. 3) All review where favorable to the Cougar too...So its no wonder, they are for the Warthog. Personally I'm pretty much sold aside from real world impressions of the final product. Everything points to the fact that this will be one of the nicest controllers out now or ever for that matter (as far as combat HOTAS's go). http://dcs-mercenaries.com/ USA Squad

Feuerfalke Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 So, your problem is not the stick, the software, the separate devices, but the fact that you WANT your rudder-pedals to be used with the old/new software. Why didn't you just ask? Why make such a fuzz all about it? Use the Cougar-base and parts for an input panel and plug the rudders in. Probably gonna do the same to my Cougar - well, except that I have USB-rudders. ;) MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD

sweinhart3 Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Hehehe, this has YET to be confirmed... How many cougar buyers where pushed to another brand after the purchase ? How many are still really being used ? (And i mean this only for those that still flight but throwed it aside) I can only speak for myself on that. I have not been without issue on my cougar. I had to replace the pots, and even now the center slop is horrible. Much of the reason I cant wait for the new hotas, because center slop simply is not an issue. However despite the slop, I personally have got rid of many a joystick in the past and kept (and still use) only my cougar for 2 reasons. 1. Sturdy all metal construction. 2. It is the closest replica to the real thing over any other product targeted at the consumer market. But as I said, those are things I value, and other people desire other features and have dropped their cougar in favor of a different brand.
