159th_Falcon Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 And if you try without trimming? Are the axis of your joystick assigned properly for that plane? Do you have an symmetrical load-out? JLZ Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 My rolling were caused by not lowering flaps. (?) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Steel Jaw Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Flaps are lowered and the loadout is default. Thanx for the replies. BuzyBat Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Using G940, I have to move ailerons to it's limits, to avoid left roll at takeoff, seems joystick axis input arent initialized until it's moved. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Tailgate Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Check your payload/fuel weight. I've had this happen in custom Su-25(T) missions if I'm overweight. It will also prevent your AI wingies from taking off if they're too heavy.
EvilBivol-1 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Sounds to me like a controller issue. Check that each of your HOTAS controls is only mapped for their appropriate flight control assignment, e.g. no throttle assignmemt in the flight stick column. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. hassata Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Are you firing up the same mission. Sounds stupid, but could it be wind? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Vecko Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 (edited) I have reset the trim before take off but it still rolls to left into the ground as soon as weight off wheels. Fortunately, we have pilot stick movement animated in FC/DCS so you can easy determine is this problem related to your Joystick or something else...Wind, payload(but only for frogfoots) or maybe you "scrach" little bit reflector-truck every time on takeoff ... :) Edited August 16, 2010 by Vecko [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
IvanK Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I bet you are getting Rudder mapped to roll somehow.
104th_Crunch Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Make sure you start both engines and not just one as well.
zaelu Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I too think you don't do your preflight check correctly. 1. Is the stick moved to one side while you sit on the tarmac? 2. Are the ailerons moved from neutral position? 3. Are the rudders moved from neutral position? Check all the axes assigned to ailerons, rudders and corresponding trims Check that your throttle powers up both engines symmetrically [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least

herig2 Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Last year the same thing was happing in my A-10. It drove me crazy. Turns out that somehow the CH pedals toe brake action was link to the roll axes. Never used the toe brake system. Of coures running down the runway I'm adjusting the steering, and was pushing on the toe of a pedal, that threw the stick over. As I lifted off over I went. Same if I was flying and used the rudder, a small movement of the toe action on the pedal started a roll. Hope this helps. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Pedal sets are mostly indistinguishable from a stick to the application. This means that it'll be detected as a stick and inputs auto-mapped to their corresponding axes. ...it's just that with pedals, that might be the toe-breaks and you might accidently put pressure on them without meaning to. Nate--IRL-- Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Actually, applying no pressure to a pedal will indicate to DCS/FC2 as full deflection of a control surface axis, if that is what it is mapped to. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

Krebs20 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 My old joy stick had the same problem. During the run up I had to push the throttle Back forth, rudder side to side, and a few full circles with the flightstick. It was as if I had to do a full calibration to my stick. Before takeoff I used to idle up to the runway and go full throttle. Halfway down I would notice power at 90%. I would chop the throttle to 0 then 100 and it went to 100% power. I was using a logictec 3d pro. I think. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
vortex360 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Every Saitek controller I've owned required it to be re-calibrated every time the PC is re-started.
Moa Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 It is good you use that procedure Krebs20. In real-life checks a pilot checks for "full and free" movement of the control surfaces before they take the runway (since a stone could have got lodged while taxiing, for example). When flying dual we'd call "knees and balls!" so our second officer/flight instructor knew to give the dual stick plenty of room.
Krebs20 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I 1st learned to flying in a beat to hell Cessna 152. My instructor was 6'2". Before Takeoff Check 1. Parking Brake--SET 2. Cabin Doors-- CLOSED and LATCHED. 3. Flight Controls-- FREE and ( Jessie move your damn knees! ) CORRECT. HAHA the memories. I fly Sims not to sim but to do things I would never try in a Cessna. Back to topic. The old Joystick had to go threw a cycle of all its free movements before it would work correctly. This was always the 1st flight when I loaded the sim. Its just a habit now to run the controls threw once during the start up. I hope this helps. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Steel Jaw Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Here's what fixed the issue for me: moving my Cougar to all axis prior to rolling. pumkindrvr Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Had the same problem in FC2, but not in FC1. Adjusting deadzone fixed it.
