Something very natural feeling, comfy and sturdy.

I had CH's rudder pedals a long time ago they did the job. But it was mainly just one thing you could do.

I'd love to find one that you could have heel and toe rudders for wheel brakes etc.

Are there any out there that are like affordable and USB based?

I've got the Saitek X52 and the twisting rudder mechanism just don't cut it..

I have the Saitek Pro pedals and they are pretty sturdy and IMO good value for money. :)

Don't want to be "that guy," but they're "pedals," not "rudders." That's like saying, "I plussed 8 and 3," instead of, "I added 8 and 3."

I've done this so much lately, maybe I am "that guy..."

Unfortunatly there s not many players.

Saitek

Simped

CH

Very old gameport based which are a problem but better than CH TM rudders that you will only find on E-bay and probably will need some refurbish.

I think the best would be TM RCS + Hall sensors but its have too many "IFs"

Tm really blew it not launching RCS USB, they gave the market to the opfor.

My Saiteks Pro are on the mail i ll get them tomorrow i choosed them upon testimonials and sex appeal and price, cant speak more than that about them.

Sure, you'll get them tomorrow. Just like you already said you already had them two weeks ago. And that had me perplexed since you indicated so many Customs problems yet you got them at the same time a USA person got them, but whatever. Just like you said you already got your Hog several weeks ago, but recanted and said it was still stuck in Customs recently, hence your inability to recently identify a USB tag on the cable (which does not exist on mine, btw), probably a photoshopped pic, but you acted like you were familiar with it.. Do you have a Hog or the Saitek peddles? Have you even purchased either? Do you even have a PC?

I could post what you post with just my cell phone - if I were so bored.

Most cost effective rudders?

The home build versions.

I'm selling MiG-21 activation key.

Also selling Suncom F-15E Talon HOTAS with MIDI connectors, several sets.

IMHO the "most cost effective" rudders are the ones that are built to last, with quality components and are ergonomic. The price is a variable that is spread over the lifetime of the device's use, so if the rudder pedals last you say 6-8 years the initial cost takes a different perspective. There is a saying, "purchase quality once, or cheap over and over".

Then again, those who purchased quality a few years ago are now sitting with gameport pedals, frequently without toe brakes, and no effective way to hook them up.

Of course, game ports were different, no surprise they went out of style. USB will be around forever, never to be replaced by anything better. And noone will ever need more than 640k of RAM... :megalol:

Me for example :smilewink: Hall effect sensor powered! :D

That would be the best way assuming you know hot to or have the pacience to.

But i think the OP was talking about ready to plug and pray.;)

OP also balked at a $200 price tag ...

You can bolt a few pieces of wood together with a pot or hall sensor hooked up to the PCB of a USB gamepad and have operational rudder pedals for under $20. Assuming rudimentary woodworking skills, they're not likely to look (or feel) great.

If you want something ready to plug in for less than $100, you'd better start watching eBay for a good deal. The CH pedals are really the cheapest contenders (unused), AFAIK.

Well, Simped already have HALL sensor and your USB circuit allow response curves adjust (linear, exponential, logarithmic ), some models include toe brakes, you center system spring (similar to one used motorcicle gear pedal, and in Saitek, WKB pedals...) is more logical than one used in RCS, with torsion spring, that tend do break over time.

Simped is made in sturdy plastic (similar do CH products) - RCS is aluminum frames and plastic pads.

So, what RCS have more?

OP asked about most cost-effective rudders, and the point is that it comes down to how much you're willing to spend for what sort of capability.

If all you're looking for is a way to work the rudders for as little as possible, then spend $20 and some time hacking together your own set.

On the opposite end of the spectrum are probably the top-end Simpeds, built to last with a USB interface and integrated toe-brakes. As I understand it, they're great - but they'll cost you.

The same for TM RCS hall sensed by cubby, but they are gameport and you only will find them from time to time on E-bay, you won t know their quality so the "IF".

Simped is the more secure, optimal non cheap option.
