As it stands Ed still has a patch to deliver on 1.1 ..... But because of the way the community acts regarding any advanced notice I dought if there will be any... They contacted with Ka-50 pilots and you wouldn't believe how many technical details are discussed last month. ZoomBoy27 Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 The inaccurate semi-true scuttle-butt is that the Ka-50 has had it's art done and the flight model is roughed out at least. But for the Environment, they are going to have to upgrade a lot of the ground stuff - including some infantry(1 bit seen in the Real weapons Mod(Grenader)). Xmas is a good date for its release but so is any other time between now and the beginning of next year. Some sort of French plane(Mirage) is being evaluated for possible addition but only as an AI non-flyable. There's been no official discussion of a dedicated server or any fancy schmancy extra bit. In the short term, there is a 95% probability ED is working on a large patch to cover a lot of issues - but no one will confirm, deny, or deign to answer. The 1st noise had it coming out in June, but now it should be the classic "when it's done". It should be like the 1.02 was: a patch to get as much covered as possible. Check the Bugs forum to see the issues that have been brouht up and are likely to be evaluated for inclusion. None of the above is essentially wrong or essentially true. My feeling is they might add extra system/bits to 1.20 but they'd have to be tested 1st before a peep comes out of anyone. Mine is mid grade but I am lucky to get 20fps in the Su-25T at low level at truely minimal detail. With the TV/LLTV on I get about 10fps. I get 40+ fps in all other planes but the Su-25T and to a lesser extent the old Su-25 bring it to its knees. Hopefully they will make the Ka-50 work better. Reducing view range would help. It won't go anywhere in a hurry so I don't need to be able to see beyond 30km. Now yeah I am aware that I can reduce the visibility in the mission builder but I've found that has zero effect on performance. In any case assuming mid grade PC's can give acceptable fps (>25fps) then I look forward to the Ka-50. It's been the one chopper I've always wanted in a flight sim and never gotten. It will be so nice to be able to use an AT missle and still keep my distance rather than being forced to fly almost straight over my very pissed off victims.
Pilotasso Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 They will have consideration for your PC, but they will also considerate the ability to turn on extra detail on future more potent PC's. ;) Lets be patient. We got 1.1 even now and as I see it it could be up to a year to get 1.2 . Dont expect predicted dates of this fall to come true, so you wont be disapointed. Right now I want the 1.1 patch more urgently than 1.2 so I can enjoy my fav plane as it should be. :D .

The Ka50 has a twin turboshaft powerplant, theres a significant difference. Maybe you guys should get zzzspace to visit a Ka50 SQN and get some better Ka50 sounds. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]

F-15E (don't remember wich one - Janes or Microprose) had some very limited implementation. Il-2 has it now. ;) The new feature will be the implementation of indication visibility limits, it is an circle projected on the angled HUD glass (two glasses on some HUDs). It is common way of implementation of collimated picture. It gives very little errors and only at a sides of HUD picture. I think it is about 1-3 mils in a worst case. Cobra360 Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 The Flankers are the true stars of the series. It's like time moved on and forgot them. The MiG-29 3d model, I think is excellent. It was the best till the Su-25T came along. If the Flanker family could be brought up to a similar standard as the MiG-29 model, well it would be sweet. I think ground crew are a long way off. One game stands out, F/A-18 Superhornet. The carrier deck crew giving you hand signals as you taxied to the catapult for launch were great. It gave the game extra immersion.
