Conure Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Hey all, Just wondering if the Shark will be getting HDR and cockpit shadows? Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.
159th_Falcon Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 As far as i know the compatibility patch means bringing earlier releases up to the new standards of the current release. So that would be yes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
Martillo1 Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I would like to see the PVI-800 illumination problem fixed first. And AI too. Vista, Suerte y al Toro! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
nemises Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 no info at all on that yet I'm afraid...what is to be included / covered by the compatibility patch will be released by ED at a later stage, as development on the patch proceeds.
Conure Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 Ah okay, thank you very much for the info! Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.
sobek Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Here's my personal opinion (and nothing more), based on info that is available in the public domain: HDR, i think so. Dynamic cockpit shadows, i'd be surprised. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Bodo Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 I really can't wait for this patch. Just the environment update, great. lighting and shadows, I hope so but, if not, still will be great. 213 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 i hope they update the ka50 with normal maps and cockpit shadows, but i don't think that's going to happen, to be honest. they'd basically have to redo the cockpit and the model. 1
MemphisBelle Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Q: Is DCS: A-10C Warthog online-compatible with DCS: Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs 2? A: We hope to be able to release a compatibility upgrade for DCS: Black Shark. This would give Black Shark all the features of A-10C, except the flyable A-10C. A compatibility upgrade for FC2 is being considered. FAQ´s BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
sobek Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) they'd basically have to redo the cockpit and the model. Indeed, that's why i too think it is very unlikely to happen. [...] Well in this case i think with features they mean the general capabilities of the engine, that doesn't mean that they will redo the cockpit model in edm format just to enable cockpit shadows for the BS. Still, a man can dream. :) Edited June 6, 2011 by sobek Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

Still, a man can dream. :) What that means will be seen once the patch is out and we sit in the pit. Until this point we´d avoid making assumptions on this. Fact is, BlackShark WILL change...on how much it will...nobody can tell atm... @ Sobek, this is not ment to you...it´s a generell statement BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
Rusty_M Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I hope it gets the shadows. I think the compatibility itself is much more important though. The way I see it is thus: Shadows=fantastic No shadows=no great loss. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
Toadster Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I'm just looking forward to the Co-Op possibilities... I know the data link system between the 2 aircraft won't be possible, but you can still broadcast an enemy's location with Lat and Long coordinates. Hawg and Shark drivers.. better brush up on making waypoints in the CDU and PVI / ABRIS... Woot!

BaD CrC Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Not at all also for me and my squad. the "carrots" are always part of at least one Shark load in our MP flights with SU25 when it comes to co ordinated operations. Very effective. The SU25 pilots love it. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
bogusheadbox Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Ahhhh there is plenty of smoke from the first destroyed vehicle to make a good mark  I do agree that they are very good value. But call me strange, I have had a tendency to be a stalker lately and drop all rockets for inboard fuel tanks. She is heavy on take off, but the endurance is fantastic. Its such a pleasure to fly that i like to take my time and having the extra fuel has paid off for me on many occasions. Especially in the dynamic missions.
