SuperKungFu Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Black Shark eh? Sounds sexy. I'll buy it! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
King_Hrothgar Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Looks good although the grainyness is wierd. What did they do? Print it on a napkin and then scan it? :D The Ka-50 is something I've always wanted in a flight sim. But as history has shown with this particular developer it is best to wait and see before buying. These guys tend to be exceptionally optimistic on how stable their programs run and just what kind of hardware is needed to run them. I'll probebly get it, but it would be wise to wait for a few good reviewers to take a look first like the ones at SimHQ. In anycase I hope it turns out good. I've been itching for a new helo sim for a long time and it looks like this is the closest I'll get for a couple years.
Skopro_PL Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 1st off the first installation althought made by eagle had (im sure) been doing what UBI wanted to do,and as soon as eagle went on their own they released FC ,im sure u can say u saw a big increase in performance and stability(i know i did),so i think with 1.2 u wont have a thing to worry about,i kno im gonna get it as soon as it comes out..if ur concerned i'll write a review for ya.. | 8700k @4.9 | Gigabyte Gaming 7 | 32gb Tridentz @3000 | EVGA 1080 TI SC2 | CV1 | VKB MCG PRO [sigpic]https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FeLGqKyJ3K08k3z-7XaegWgRuGRGkKUs/view?usp=sharing[/sigpic]
Dmut Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Nice looking pit. Why the textured images? they are scans of printed booklet about LO 1.2. you can get one if you'll visit 1C showhall on MAKS 2005. Also, 3 PCs there are loaded with 1.2 alpha and visitors can actually try to fly it. Dmut Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I'm not sure about releasing it in PDF since they are promotional from 1C. Let's see what's ED officials show us after MAKS. Shaman Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Amazing. ED team always made the best looking cockpits. It seems they're still on the top! Pilotasso Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 First it was flamming cliffs (aka hot rocks) and now "Black shark"?! whos making up these names anyway? .
Weta43 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Did you seee that on the lo-mac sit there's a a translation of a russian thread from here of the pamphlet with the cockpit photos. "Black Shark" doesn't seem like a bad name to me. - I always figured flaming cliffs was a dodgy translation of scorched earth - anyone know if that was the case? Cheers.
britgliderpilot Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 At first glance, I thought that was a photo of the real thing . . . . . . like, wow. Flaming Cliffs I think did actually mean Flaming Cliffs - the Crimean area being known for it's cliffs. The original Russian translation was "Hot Rocks" . . . . grin. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
BearF_CO_159th Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Hot Rocks, sounds like one of my more 'specialist' DVDs. Black Shark eh? Looks good from those (grainy) screenshots. Mind you, Im a rotor head anyway so looking forward to this one a lot.
Weta43 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 BGP - Yeah it was actually the fact that they even considered "hot rocks" that made me think they were just not getting the translation of a Russian expression right - you know - like we say "scorched earth tactics" they might say "Hot Rocks" or "burning soil policy" or something... Cheers.
TekaTeka Posted August 19, 2005 Author Posted August 19, 2005 Some extra infos are here. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/6031079743 I extracted important ones. Game "LockOn: Black shark ", works independently, but also includes the possibility of working with the game LockOn: Hot cliffs, and is its further development. Looks like IL-2+AEP vs. PF situation. The output of game is planned on March 2006. I think this is VERY ROUGH estimation. Anyway, it's far enough to save some money for it. :icon_wink TekaTeka from Japan [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Visit my site Beyond Visual Range.

Babelfish still have to polish it's Russian ;) the correct translation of original text from booklet is (applying to my not-too-good English :) ): Game "LockOn: Black shark ", works independently (standalone), also includes all functionality of game LockOn: Flamin Cliffs, and being a further development of LO and LO:FC. so, I believe, it would be the same situation as with FC: 1C will release standalone version for CIS market, while ED will sell add-on for westerns via web site and partners. Still, I don't have any insider's info on these maketing questions, so we have to wait official announcement. 504 Wolverine Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 First it was flamming cliffs (aka hot rocks) and now "Black shark"?! whos making up these names anyway? "Black shark" is the name given to the Ka-50, it is also known as "Werewolf". As you know the Ka-52 is the "Alligator" (look ma it's black) :p My mouth is watering already. :D [/url]
VapoR Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Looks great! Can't wait to give that one a spin (pardon the pun!) As far as the translation of Flaming Cliffs goes, I heard that "Flaming" or "Hot" was supposed to mean more like a tense conflict situation. As in: "The LZ is hot". Something like that. Still translates very poor though!! Everyone I try to tell about the game just laughs at the name. Black Shark sounds infinetely better, but since it will still have all the planes we know and love already I think it will be a kinda wierd name. For example: "I'm leaving work now, going home to fly some Black Shark!" :D Sounds funny if you really intend to fly an F-15 lol.
SUBS17 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 It looks as though this includes clickable pit and mfds which is a big surprise. I wasn't expecting that until lockons successor. So can anyone confirm how many buttons we arent using for the Ka50? This looks F4 level by the looks. AWESOME! [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I wouldn't bank on a clickpit yet ... it may be that the MFD you see there operates like the F-15C's PACS. Don't assume ... when you assume, you make an *** of U and ME. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
192nd_Erdem Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 ...Ka-50's 3D 6DOF cockpit with mouse interaction... *Clickable pit* Lock-On is going the right way :)

AWESOME! at this moment about 600 functions could be assigned to keyboard buttons, so, I think, most of these "600" are in clickable pit ;) "There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general: recklessness, which leads to destruction; cowardice, which leads to capture; a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults; a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame; over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble."
