SkateZilla Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) Baku, Azerbaijan Whoever was trying to say the reflections were baked into the textures needs to watch this in HD, You can clearly see the clouds and Scenery moving as the Camera Pans. Definitely not baked on. THAT SHORE LINE! AWESOME. We need a 3rd Party or Partner to do a DCS Global Terrain, I'd pay a few Hundred for it :) Edited December 4, 2013 by SkateZilla Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Suchacz Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I didn't see anywhere around the definite negative word about implementation of any map that is shown here or at Avia youtube chanel. Flagrum Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 This thread is depressing me ... Sooooo many maps, so much world to explore. Everyone makes best use of EDGE and has a portfolio of dozends of different maps. Corsica, somewhere-in-North-America, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, ... .... and we? We wait ...
Suchacz Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Thanx a lot Skate None of the Content in those videos is representative of upcoming Modules or 3rd Party Modules. They Are Simply Earlier Versions of EDGE running on Different Simulation platforms being used by other companies for training. Correct. The only thing that should be taken away from those videos is how EDGE models maps. Even so, maps could greatly vary in their look based on elevation mesh detail, art-generated vs satellite generated textures, texture resolution, object population, etc. ...but I can't see nothing that negates what I wrote. :smartass: Ya know - never say never, though the probability is very low, imho it does not equal zero... :smilewink: Maybe a possible additional amount of bucks collected by selling those maps to DCS community should persuade its devs to release them for us... SkateZilla Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Maybe a possible additional amount of bucks collected by selling those maps to DCS community should persuade its devs to release them for us... Just because the Rendering Engine is the same doesnt mean the Base Software is. They might or might not have licensing to sell it to consumers, Why would they sell it to consumers to use with a Free DCSW Platform, and risk losing clients that prolly pay upwards of 4 to 5 Figures for their Professional Training Software.
