The one bundled in your latest version of DCS should be newest enough for all your needs. Never saw the want or need to use one newer than your install. If you actually have an official license, 2018 is the oldest 3DS Max version you can use legally... Which means that in the current situation, only hackers can make mods for DCS. I pay for a license from Autodesk every month and all I can access is 3DS Max 2018 through 2021. Thanks. The only thing I can't do is edit previous fake lights and animate new ones. Omni and spot lights work fine. With the new lighting set up I suspect it's all changed.. T-Pap Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Seem to be facing an issue with the models in game - When in first person view looking at some models of mine at certain angles , they dissapear (yet their projected shadow remains) and re-appear if i move my head (in VR) or pan camera sligtly to another angle. This is only in first person view , outside cameras are unaffected . It is as if there are blind spots that certain angles make the models invisible .. Has anyone had a similar experience or could help figure out what this is ? Thanks

I inherited a file I was trying to texture map, but it seems its not possible to work with without these plugins which dont seem to install on the 2021 version. And want it to work in last versions of the game. if I'm hypothetical have 3DS MAX 2017, what should I do to convert old EDM files to new versions? When i trying to open that EDM files in ingame ModelViewer2, i have an error: "wrong version of model file"...And that EDM didn't load when I started the game...thanks for the help Edited August 11, 2020 by Lines14

Do we export via the 3ds max menu? Still the 2020 plugin is buggy: the link doesn't open the toolbar so the preferences for exporter are not recheable. BTW, yes, you can export EDM format via 3ds menu.
