Because of the revamped code in 2017, it may be the reason there is no plug-in for it yet. On top of that, there is a new model format coming as found in the plug-in.

 

I'm sure once the new format is released, they'll get 2017+ included.

I wonder if the Exporter supports exporting Particle Flows..

When trying to fire up ModelViewer I'm getting a message that I don't have "GraphicsCore.dll" and to try reinstalling. I've tried the last two builds from the ftp, same result. ANyone got any ideas?

This so frustrating. None of the guides look anything like what I'm seeing.

 

I've downloaded Max 2014. I've installed EDM plugin 115338, and installed EDM ModelViewer 115338.

 

I do NOT get anywhere with the "Make Cool". I get an error about "Connect requires SubAnims" and that's it.

 

I now understand why there's so few people actually doing any modding comparatively compared to say ARMA. Because the entry level is set so fecking high, through deprecated software (2014, really?) and the lack of any sort of up to date documentation, it's almost entirely impossible for anyone except a professional to just come along and have a go.

 

Please, someone, help. :helpsmilie:

So every time you click 'make cool' you get the error message "Connect requires SubAnims" pop up box?

 

Is there any animations set to the model?

The only reason I start up 2014...

 

IF autodesk stops messing about with max every year then it'll be fine..

Hello everyone, I have a question about the edm format:

 

Is there a way to open a model from DCS World (edm) in a program like Substance Painter, where I can draw directly camouflage schemes over the model?

Hi there,

sorry if this must be a dumb question - but I installed 3dsmax 2014 student today, working fine. I installed the recommended stable EDMtools 115338 and the EDMViewer. The tools come up fine in 3dsmax, also the make cool comes up with the appropriate dialog in ME, and exporting seems to work since a file is built with 53k for two smple balls. I try to do the same as in Damiens video tutorial

 

I downloaded the files, the all are ok in max as well as in my EDM Viewer.

 

But I no way get the exporter match the Viewer - any exported model produces a file, but is not shown in the Viewer. Alway no objects, no vertices, nothing visible.

 

If you can, please help me here....I have no further ideas.

i have applied a simple texture (an image with gray color) on the diffuse channel. All other channels are set to zero. shader basic params is checked for two sided. assigned to object. then hit make cool. then export. am I missing anything?

I tried different viewers, no change. I compared the tutorial export .edm file with my exported-from-tutorial-max-model file, and they pretty different. So I asume it has to do with the Exporter or EDModeler tool. But I have no clue what that might be or where to start looking.

you are reight - now I tried the viewer which came with the last update of DCS World 1.5 - now it seems to work...

hm. great, but I do not understand it. anyway, thanks very much for the hint!

How can I change an animation argument in a lua script or dirctly in the ME? I searched for the half day but I did not find the solution....its probably a dumb question. I want to switch on lights in a ship model. In the Model viewer I can change i.e. Arg 150 and it does what it should. But I dont know how to script this. The ship itself is ok and works fine in the sim, but I simply get not the clue how to access these animation arguments...

Any help is very appreciated...
