yeah, if you're using versions from November, then things have definitely changed.

I just edit the autoexec lua to load model and livery on bootup, and to set specific arguments.

Open model, inspect, make notes, goto photoshop adjust, export, while I'm waiting for DDS to export, close MV, after DDS exports re-launch MV.

ie:

LoadModel ("CoreMods/aircraft/F-5E/Shapes/f-5e3_lod_00.edm")
LoadLivery("F-5E-3","ROCAF AIDC Tiger 2001")

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

I normally save as BMP as it's quicker for testing. I only canvert to DDS at the end.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Isn't it about time an EDM plugin was created for 3DS Max past version 2014? We are now all the way up to version 2018 and the old versions are pretty difficult to get hold of now.

Cheers

Yes, though my WAG is that they're trying to finalize their PBR-supporting .edm design before they roll out a new set of plugins. I've also never developed for 3DS, so hard to say just how much work it takes to keep up with the latest versions of the tool, independent of .edm format changes.

Also Autodesk keeps changing stuff in everytime. Hence why they support max 12 and 14 but not 13.

Thanks for your replies.

Though I agree that AutoDesk may keep making changes with the latest versions, once a couple of years old (both versions 2015, 2016 not supported with a EDM plugin) they are unlikely to have any major changes with their Service Packs now.

With the student versions, only version 2015 onwards are available now that version 2018 is out, and who would want to invest a large amount of funds buying an obsolete version of an application (v 2014)?

Changing how please?

The grapevine says PBR and a new exporter.

Plus Eagle Dynamics are under no obligation to provide the exporter to the community. But they do and we thank them for it.

Anyone else having issues with the latest plugin dated April 2017

Apparently after install and starting up Max, I get 4 prompts trying to find the *.dlc / *.dle files within the plugin folder.....even though they are there.

I know, but I finally seen the April 2017 one and wanted to try it. No one here has talked about it yet.

The Concept of PBR is the Same, but every game engine implements the material channels in their own way.

Best to wait for an ED Doc/Guide.
