The better pilot.

Nate

This.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Is P-51 vs Toad possible now in MP? Would like to see some vids. Who'd you think would win?

I've tested this several times with a friend... And we found out that it not only depends on the better pilot...

The P51D wins... It simply wins when both pilots are just as good or when the Su25 pilot is better. The P51 won't leave a Toad's tail because the P51's turn radius is superior. When I was flying Su25 I found out that the only way to get him of my tail is a 90 degree pitch up manoeuvre and wait for the P51 to stall first. Or, use your speed to move away from the P51 and turn around for a head-on. With your 30mm you will have a good chance in a head on engagement. But the P51 wins in 'CQB'. Looking forward to P51 vs A10...

Agree.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

I have a suspicion that the A-10 will not be able to shake the P-51 at all and those big engines are not going to like the .50 cal rounds coming right in through the back.

What I tend to do is extend and then circle over the P-51 just high enough for him not reach me, and then wait until the pilot makes the inevitable mistake and swoop.

We tried everything... He couldn't catch me when I made use of my higher energy potential or speed. But the dogfight was endless as I couldn't catch him either. In other fights I won some head-on's, but when we tried to dogfight the traditional way (trying to turn and get behind opponent at roughly the same altitude), he won. Everytime.

None of us made the mistake, or didn't took the advantage. I think.

The missiles were effective, though :P

Once heat management is fully functional and players cannot run around at 61" MAP all day, things may be a little different.

Good point!

Well I am thoroughly enjoying the SU-25 these days. Its a challenge to fly with all the ordnance on board and a challenge to find targets but with a little practice it can be done. Ive finally got my cougar set up to handle all the intricacies of the plane. I would love to see this aircraft looked at again in the future and brought up to DCS standards. Id be the first in line to buy.

I was in Art of the Kill D#@ it!!!!

Agreed the SU-25T is a fantastic plane, once you have the autopilot mastered.

The only problem that i have with the "Toad" is that once i have finally found the target with it's forward facing Shkval.........i'm often nearly on top of it !!!...

At least with the A-10C you can circle and take your time searching with the TGP..

My only real complaint with the current Su-25T is that it currently has no fire suppressant system fitted to it's engines....

Looking forward to the SU-25 "Froggie" when she comes....

I flew the SU-25T with the ricardo cockpit mod tonight for the first time. It's a heap of fun and really easy to learn the basics. It's a great lost leader to get people into DCS World and playing with others!

Learning...

I must say that so far I'm loving the "toad"

Last night I tried to take down the USS Carl Vinson using a KH-58 and the Phantasmagoria ELINT pod... the carrier fired two missiles at me just before I was able to launch both kh-58 just seconds before my toad was broken in half... LOL I thrown everthing at those missiles from chaf, flares, tomatoes... god even the virtual helmet

Well, I once did manage to sink a heavy warship, by flying very low in the Toad armed with ARM missiles. So, I skimmed the sea at about 50-60 meters with the autopilot and launched Kh-58 and then Kh-25. I was killed in the process however.

Just loving flying the Toad in DCS.

With the 6dof mod & Ricardo's cockpit mod its a gem have available in DCS. Personally i quite like the fact it is of lower fidelity than true DCS airframes.. nice and easy to get you head around the systems but still a challenge to master and fly well.

I agree.

I'm loving to fly the Toad. I fell a litle guity to say that I'm loving it a little bit more than the A-10.

The Toad has not the same advanced systems as the A-10. But it is more maneuverable.

And it can do SEAD. A-10 can't. 'Nough said.:D

This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly:
