Cali Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 B1 takeoffs here at Tinker, a sound experience. I don't think they get out of afterburner untill about 6 miles down range. Takes maybe a minute plus a few seconds, then its quiet again. I remember watching B-1 take off at night in Gaum, awesome sight! Looks like I may be seeing that again.....soon. :noexpression: i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

Bullitt Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 AC-130U for sure. But in DCS perhaps a MC-130W would be best with CA coming on line. MC-130W can insert 20-30 SOF troops, provide Non traditional ISR in support and has low colateral damage munitions to support and aerial refuel other aircraft in the stack. Now thats multi tasking! Actually this is a brilliant idea, or better yet both. You drop troops into the battlefield and your buddy comes in right behind you in the AC-130 and lays down support fire for them. That would be great fun.

Generally you would want to reverse that....better to prep the LZ, than to try to coordinate fires with troops on the ground in potential close contact... OpenHornet F/A-18C 1:1 SimPit Website :: DCS Thread Link :: Discord :: Github ::
Antonov225 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Come on, an entire thread on big jets, and the An-225 only gets one mention so far? In all seriousness, I'd put my vote in for the An-124/225 (I think the flight manual is out there for the 124 at least) and C-5B, but the map isn't really suited for strategic airlifters. Now, on the other hand, if we had a Bering Strait map, with parts of Alaska and Kamchatka. :music_whistling:
djembe Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 DCS:Big jets is a very good idea. Tankers, awacs, transports, bombers, Yeahhhh Some third parties have to look at this post if they want my money, I prefer this to a fighter aircraft not well simulated.
Woogey Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 @ Antonov225 The Bering straights all the Way! I have posted this elsewhere in the forums, Alaska Vs. Siberia. Perfect classic battle map. Naval battles, open tundra, mountains, and forests. An energy crises fuels a battle for resources. Classic plot line. An as stated perfect for tactical airlifters.
Appleonastick Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 AC-130U for sure. But in DCS perhaps a MC-130W would be best with CA coming on line. Let's combine DCS with the pro ArmA community.. Then we can give the ground crew some support from the air :P On topic: Hell yeah for the B-1B DCS A-10C II Warthog, DCS AV-8B, DCS F/A-18C. Corrigan Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 The Globemaster model needs some TLC anyway, so I wouldn't complain! Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
Corrigan Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Won't be long and someone will be asking for this one ... :geek: It would be awesome to hear "rebel scum" as the target description in a JTAC nine-line. Zakatak Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Won't be long and someone will be asking for this one ... :geek: I would much rather have the Pegaus. :music_whistling: Although this would be nice too:
Backy 51 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 An MC-130H Combat Talon II would be a great choice. They do low level work at night, on NVGs, in Indian Country, inserting SOF personnel and equipment via airland and airdrop. The AC-130U would be my second choice. Would love to see any Herc capable of performing CDS, HE or Personnel airdrop! ... I also vote for DCS - Flight Surgeon (large knuckles optional) ;-D Declare your entire multiplayer opposition DNIF for the sniffles right before starting the session! LOL I don't need no stinkin' GPS! (except for PGMs :D) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
magpie Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 +1 more for the V bombers, been a while but I was in a Vulcan back in the 90s, one that had done the round trip to Port Stanley. ;) was that the vulcan at east fortune by any chance [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Alicatt Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) was that the vulcan at east fortune by any chance Nope but I do have a picture of me with that Vulcan :) A friend is one of the driving forces at Solway Aviation Museum and he gave me the keys to their Vulcan for a look see :) http://www.solway-aviation-museum.co.uk/ I used to work with David Kirkpatrick in CCTV for ADT, the director of the division I worked for was also a big aviation fan, down to having a a flying spitfire in his office going round and round hanging from the ceiling :D Edited July 8, 2012 by Alicatt Sons of Dogs, Come Eat Flesh Clan Cameron
NRG-Vampire Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 BRING IT!!!!!!!!!!! ^ yeah check the "about/our customers" page http://precise3dmodeling.com/ unfortunately ED did not buy this AC yet, 2000$ is not cheap but maybe they will get some discount if they buy a "package" seems ED bought that E-2D model which is in the sim already http://precise3dmodeling.com/models/aerospace/images/e-2d/e2d_large.jpg http://precise3dmodeling.com/gallery/c-17_01_large.jpg http://precise3dmodeling.com/models/aerospace/images/c-17/c17_9.jpg
SilentGun Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 If you want big jets an-225 is the best way to go... Although we would need some bigger runways Link to my Imgur screenshots and motto http://imgur.com/a/Gt7dF One day in DCS... Vipers will fly along side Tomcats... Bugs with Superbugs, Tiffy's with Tornado's, Fulcrums with Flankers and Mirage with Rafales... :)The Future of DCS is a bright one:)
MacEwan Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Once we get multi-crew capability we need an AC-130. Could you imagine how sweet that would be.
