Griffin Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Can I import my logbook, incomplete campaign and snapviews? I haven't found a solution or got an answer so let's ask this way. - Which file in the old BS2 contains campaign progress status and is it stored in logbook? - Can I import it to DCS World and where should I place it now? - Where is the snapviews file located now in DCS World? I haven't found it in the usual \Config\Views\ folder (only DefaultSnapViews file is found there). Is it possible to import the old settings? I really hope there is a separate file for each plane since my instrument panel usage is completely based on snapviews. If it's only generic for every plane through the DefaultSnapViews file, it will be a pain in the ass to switch planes and not have the same views. They are really essential if you are not using a large full HD screen.
Tualatin Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Great work DCS team, thank you very much! But I lost my campaign and ranking, doesn't matter! Well done guys! [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic34649_6.gif[/sIGPIC] VKB Gunfighter MCG Pro Mk.II, VKB T-Rudder Pedals Mk.IV
empeck Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I agree it's silly having to install BS1 first. +1 Is it because DCS World is still in beta? Will upgrade license owners still have to keep/install obsolete 4 GB of data on the hard drive just for activating Ka-50 in DCS: World final?

Yes, you need BS1 to activate Kamov 1.2.0. - it is as a result of acquiring BS2 at a reduced price via upgrade as opposed to the full purchase. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? And penalize the people who paid the full purchase price for the luxury of not having to install BS1? Interesting concept :) BTW - These are my personal observations and do not reflect the official stance/reason of TFC/ED. I have absulotely no idea of the official reason. empeck Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 And penalize the people who paid the full purchase price for the luxury of not having to install BS1? What about those who bought BS2 on sale? :music_whistling: They paid less than me (BS1 + BS2 upgrade). Why they have better way of installing Black Shark than long time supporter who used one of the official ways to buy a product? I guess ED should make a warning that I'm buying a flawed product when I bought an upgrade. :P
159th_Viper Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 What about those who bought BS2 on sale? :music_whistling: Then those that purchased the upgrade at a reduced price should have waited for the eventual sale in order to purchase the product if cost/finance was such an overriding factor. Ich666 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Is there any update on how to get the BS2 Campaigns to work in World yet?
Auroraw Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 So this patch fixed "pilot textures were missing", i think they mean that i can now see the pilot body in-cockpit right? Except that i cant. how can i get the pilot's body in the cockpit? i7 2600K - GTX 590 - Z68Extreme4 - 8gb Gskill 1600 - Thrustmaster Warthog - Saitek Combat Pedals - TrackIR5

I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Ich666 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Ok, i think ive solved my problem with the Campaigns not showing up. I didnt have DCS World 1.20 installed, but instead 1.1.2.0, which i patched to 1.1.2.1. So hopefully after im done with the torrent this will work. Someone of the ED staff should remove the 1.1.2.0 to 1.1.2.1 patch from the Download section, because its very confusing right now if you already had the DCS World beta installed.

In case I'm not the only one using snapviews, you can import your old ones and place them in the above folder. I'm afraid there isn't an option to make each plane their own file.

metin Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Hello everyone, I have two questions. After upgrading the steam version of FC1 to 1.2.0 version FC2, is it safe to delete the steam version FC1? Second question, if I wanted to reinstall FC2 do I have to reinstall steam version FC1 first? or my new 1.2.0 FC2 upgrade serial number will let me do the installation. Thank you. EDIT: I meant to ask about B.S. too much reading today ;) Edited July 16, 2012 by metin
Yurgon Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I have two questions. After upgrading the steam version of FC1 to 1.2.0 version FC2, is it safe to delete the steam version FC1? "FC" aka "Flaming Cliffs" isn't available on Steam, is it? Are you referring to "DCS: Black Shark" aka "BS"? If so, you only need an activated installation of BS1 in order to activate BS2 once. After that, the BS1 installation can be deleted. If you re-install the same version of BS2 on the same machine, I think no further activation will be required. If you're not low on disc space, it may be a good idea to keep BS1 anyways just in case. A lot of people complained about having to reinstall BS1 in order to activate BS2 recently (once for the standalone installation of BS2 and then again for BS2 for DCS: World). I don't think there'll be another version that requires a new installation because the idea behind World is to unify everything, but as I said, just in case you may want to keep BS1 if you've got enough disc space left. 1
metin Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 My bad, I meant to say BS of course. Thank you for your help Yurgon.
