Yeah, regular weekly updates is a good call and will do a lot to help out those who were feeling a little, "left in the dark."

It's a good move all round.

I can relate to red tape of communications. My work I have to go through about 4 levels of command to release any kind of information to our users. So the fact they are giving him more freedom is good.

Hopefully the fixes work well and we can see it soon. I"m working from home tomorrow and will practice my credit card throwing style at the computer screen.

Wags for president, of the world :), and again it must be a difficult time for DCS with the tragic loss of such an influential character and friend. Condolences.

Its all good here over at the Huey hangars. We can wait, no problemo.

DCS will be changing in the form of weekly Friday updates starting next week.

Many of you are wondering and openly asking, "what's up with 1.2.4 and UH-1?!?" The BST UH-1H pre-purchase beta version is ready to go, but in order for it to work within DCS, we must release it concurrently with DCS ver. 1.2.4. Unfortunately, over the past week we had a few of A-level blocking bugs that prevented this from happening (like flares that had no effect on IR-guided missiles and ground units that would crazily warp around the map in network play). We think these have now been resolved and the 1.2.4 software is being retested. Once we are sure these have been resolved, both 1.2.4 and UH-1H will be released. Given the nature of bug hunting / extermination, I'm afraid that I cannot provide a release date.

While 1.2.4 has added several new features and fixed quite a few bugs, we do not pretend that it has cleaned up all outstanding issues, like performance impact from some types of cluster munitions. Such issues will continue to be worked on and addressed in 1.2.5 and beyond.

You should mark "AutoUpdates" as your interpretation.

The statement is not refering to software-updates being released on a weekly basis.

Hi first post here !

I don't know who is the administrator of this facebook page but the information is wrong... There is an other error : that not DCS will be changing but the public announcements !

So very well Wags for this update and the future of your communication...

I hope the 1.2.4 will reach the retesting with success.

Coming up in my hand Huey !!! :)

bye. :)

Its not really wrong, just worded wrong from his original statement. All he forgot to do was add in "news information" after DCS. They will be doing a weekly update on any news that needs to be spread about about their products or progress on anything.

"Automatic Updates" could be interpreted as updates available through the auto-updater, if read without the sentence left out. I just wanted to minimize missinterpretations. But I understand now, how this was included (looking at facebook) ;)

Thanks for clarification.

I am sat here relieved that communication from ED is much better and with Wags recent post about 1.2.4 delays and future communications, I am happy to wait until they have it right for release.

But I was also wondering why Belsimtek have not considered the pre-purchase option for the UH-1H, personally I would love to chuck my spare cash at you even if I had to wait to use it :)

+1!

I'd love to pay for it already. Makes me wonder for how long can they fund themselves without customer money. It would surely help them out as they were planning the release many months ago. Imagine paying all the salaries and the rest of the fees without money from the outside. Someone has big bucks in this but I'm sure he has thought it out.

That is great to have an update from wags with the premise of regular updates. I am happy to sit and wait patiently but better not to sit and wait in the dark!:joystick:

Sound i've got no cash till Monday after buying the GF movie tickets shes been bugging me to see so maybe the delay isnt that bad. haha hf all

Know what yer mean, cost of movie tickets in the uk are horrendus :smilewink:

I think Belsimtek produces professional Simluators too, so perhaps there is no need to get money as quick as possible. But, i would pay it already too. ^^

I would have no problem pre ordering the beta from Belsimtek. I'm sure they have taken into account how to make money, in case the release is delayed. However at the end of the day the money has been put to one side for Belsimtek already, so it makes no difference to me if i pay it now or in a few weeks.

I just look at it the same as a kickstarter program. I mean I've paid out over $1000 on Star Citizen ( That is for 3 accounts and at least 2 ships per account mind you ) and that's not even planned to turn up before 2015, and is almost certainly going to be delayed.

Once the money is put to one side for a project, it's ring fenced so, where the money sits dosnt matter.

All well and good with esablished firms such as ED etc, many feel they got burned with fighter ops and are reluctant to put money up front for such projects. I'd prepay for the Huey though and it seemed to work for VRS tacpac.

But the Beta access is already considered a pre-purchase, so pre-purchasing before Beta release would technically be pre-pre-purchase. :)

I guess they can wait for their money a little while. They know we will buy it anyways. ;)
