I thought I was the only one who don't like them. Da Vinci Code was interesting for a few chapters then it became quite boring with plenty of cliche. Off topic but has anyone ever read Swan Song by R. McCammon? That book was awesome and I'd love to see it adapted into a movie.

Kathleen Kennedy, currently co-chairman of Lucasfilm, will become president of the firm and will be the executive producer on the new Star Wars films.

Hey now, that isnt the fault of Star Wars, when companies start taking a downward turn, adding Star Wars themed stuff is always good for a couple bucks... if ED was hurting you know the next Module would be an X-Wing :)

This is the best thing for Star Wars. George Lucas has lost all ability to make a credible movie. The new trilogy was awful. The best Star Wars movie ever (Empire Strikes back and if you disagree to hell with ya) was mostly written by Leigh Brackett and directed by Irvin Kershner with Lucas providing the overall creative control of it.

 

Next film, Return of the Jedi, was an all Lucas written and directed affair and... well we can see where the taste level went (ie. straight to hell).

 

Fact is that Lucas lost his edge and only in my opinion ever made 3 good movies (American Graffiti and Star Wars Eps. IV and V). Since then he's just been an abhorrent capitalist and a questionable director, writer, and appalling editor of his own work.

 

 

Frankly, Disney makes much better movies. I couldn't believe how much I ended up liking Tangled when an ex made me watch it... 10 times.... I enjoyed Tangled more than I enjoyed any of the new Star Wars movies. Frankly, I hope the new movies they make are of the Thrawn trilogy cause really. We need a new bad guy as badass as the late 70s Darth Vader was.

 

 

So really the only question we have now is... who do we get to play Thrawn?

Clearly the consagrated lucas failed to bring back its epics when he was younger and bolder. He tried to connect the dots between episodes and ended up witha furball.

 

Disney Is likely to write something better without inconsistencies, annoying characters and poor dialogs.

Star Wars has a really good series of books that cover way before episode 1 to 45 years+ after Return of the Jedi. I reccomend X-Wing Series and the Thrawn trilogy are quite good books to read. As well as that the Games are quite good some of them. The storys normally are connected in the series. None of the next series of movies are connected to any of the books so they will no doubt begin a new series of books.

 

I dunno, the Thrawn Trilogy would be good....

That was the only good bit in all the prequels. You can't sit there and not notice and cringe at the constant drip of corny dialog. It's like oogling at those wonderful websites when, bam!, the pop-up adds come on by the millionsss. :music_whistling:

Yeah, the corniness and 6 year old humour of JJB ruined everything. The whole 3 movies were made for a kid.

 

You want to make some money Disney? Give us an R-rated, sexy, blaster riddled, light saber wielding epic of a movie. And we want Jar-Jars head in a trophy case so we can make sure he's finally dead.

That was the only good bit in all the prequels.

 

The light sabre fight involving Yoda was pretty awesome too. Saw it in a MASSIVE theater at Universal City (or whatever that theme park is called) at Hollywood and everyone there broke into a mix of cheers and laughter when he started bouncing around. :D

The only thing that has been consistently good in all three films is that they all have some good action scenes.

 

The final fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan in Episode III was mostly stupid rubbish though.

 

They really upped the dismemberment-count in EpIII as well.
