Karon Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Sirs, yesterday we have hosted a huge stress test for DCSW. Here are the conclusions: http://www.fightercombatsims.net/forum/blogs/red-devil/10-fcs-warfare-stress-test-3-results-horror-show.html I can provide both server's and client's log and sys specs if needed. Just tell me. BRooDJeRo Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) What CPU's are in the systems that are having this crash? I see alot of I7's apearing in bio's everywhere and an I5 here and there. Are any AMD users having this crash? I have 2 machines, AMDX6 and AMDX2 not giving any trouble of this kind sofar. The X6 is my standard client and the X2 is running a DCS server. Edited November 13, 2012 by BRooDJeRo
statrekmike Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I have a AMD machince (a 9950 BE X4) and it crashes every time.
HiJack Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I have had an AMD server running with stability problems. AMD is out the window :)
Darkwolf Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) I see alot of I7's apearing in bio's everywhere and an I5 here and there.Crashing on both my AMD and Intel CPU computers. Hi Red.Devil, today - C0ff, from ED, asked people to send server logs, that would be nice if you could post them, or send them directly to him. Thank you ! BRooDJeRo Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) My server just had a crash like this, but there are too many variables. 1. (poor file modding?) It crashed by either a dude entering a Ka-50, generated a weaponsprofile error in the log most likely by a loadoutfilemodification which in turn caused a buildup of errors in many ways making the server crash eventualy. 2. (bug?) Or the last log entry of a SA-11 Buk LN 9A310M1 (enemy AI) killing a player in another Ka-50 with a 9M38M1 Buk-M1 (SA-11 Gadfly) missile. 3. (cracked clients, hardware crashes?) Or 1 or 2 guys connecting and disconnecting after which damaged elements occur in the log. 4. (bug?) Invalid sound source errors on planewinds. 5. (bug?) Dxrenderer texture load failures on objects and smoke 4 and 5 seem to occur more and hasnt let my server crash yet, options 1,2 and 3 are still open for debate. Ive cleaned everything out and trying another 'run-off-a-cliff' and see what new stuff or similar stuff comes up, Edited November 13, 2012 by BRooDJeRo
Karon Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 After the stress test of yesterday, we are now collecting logs and sys specs. I have already send this link to c0ff, I hope it can be useful. Stuka Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Attached some logs form us from yet another crash tonight. The info of the crashlog is the same as we had the last couple of days (since 1.2.2)logs.zip Windows 11 | i9 12900KF | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | TM MFDs + Lilliput 8" | TIR5 Pro
Stuka Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 We can reproduce it: as soon as a client opens his ladder door, everybody crashes. We're currently doing some more testing. BRooDJeRo Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I just logged into the Nuke server, entered an A-10C, checked the serverlogs and it had a bunch of the planewind sound errors. I flip the cap, press the ladder button and the server crashes. So yes its reproducable and makes servers bork. My client had a 'connection interupted' and went back to the masterserver login as intented.
Eddie Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 We can reproduce it: as soon as a client opens his ladder door, everybody crashes. We're currently doing some more testing. Reported internally, we'll see if it is indeed the cause of many of the crashes people are seeing.
ED Team c0ff Posted November 13, 2012 ED Team Posted November 13, 2012 Sound errors: harmless, sound engine was made as fault tolerant as possible. Sure, the sound errors should be fixed, but they don't affect stability. "Connection interrupted" - partly cause by long loading, we're working on this, in the mean time, server owners may want to increase timeout values, game_timeout in particular, to 60 seconds or more. Crash files look not very useful, because stack seems to be destroyed. So no need to post more of them. We're working hard to find the bug(s) and fix it ASAP. Dmitry S. BRooDJeRo Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I repro'd it again on a Nuke locked server. Steps: 1. Enter an A-10C 2. Flip ladder cap and press the extend ladder button 3. Enjoy 'connection interupted' as client and a standard Win7 hardware crashmessage for the server 4. Praise the Belgians for this finding? Logs of the client and server are provided below.

Cyb0rg Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Being fly single missions for some time, and didn't had any crash. Joined a server, and crashed while ramp start, looking around inside the pit. I'll upload the logs anyway.. might help. Gonzo01 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) The sim crashed every time while connected to the 104th server and I never touched the ladder. Screen just froze during startup and I needed to use the task manager to shut down DCS which was no longer responding. Is it possible that the missions on the 104th server need to be opened and saved in the ME to reflect changes made in this latest patch? Edited November 14, 2012 by Gonzo01
statrekmike Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Even after the two hotfixes that have already been released (yesterday), I am still getting the same crash issues. Is anyone else?
OpusTheFowl Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Not on a dedicated server but myself and two others, regardless of who hosts, get this very problem too. 15-20 minutes and then somebody/all crash-out...if the host is still running then clients can't rejoin either. This went from being rock solid to nothing but problems...hope you get it sorted soon...
chromium Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Saved Games\DCS\Config\network.cfg NOTE: file is rewritten at the exit from DCS. So exit DCS first, edit later. Sorry c0ff, but I can't find the client timeout config value in my network.cfg... what exactly we should add or modify? thanks in advance Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Openbeta: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
ENO Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=97861&page=2 He expands a bit on it in this thread here.
