That's not a bad idea Boberro. I'm sure ED want the stability issues fixed as much as all of us, and that is good enough for me. I can understand why people may get impatient however but it will be worth it. There is no sim I'd rather be playing than DCS and I suspect that statement is true for even the most vocal critics here. That is why I'm happy to wait for ED to work their magic. Once they have of course I'll start bugging for other features like vapour and raindrops on the canopy etc ;)

Although I have a lot of complains regarding inner workings of the latest ED's products (especially FC3 philosophy / whole concept of it in DCSW), it's clear that we have to accept delay times in DCSW / software updates.

ED's not guilty for delay, it's the small (and extremely picky!) market which dictates how many programmers they can hire in the end.

Let's face it - we have no serious software alternatives to DCSW, so we have to accept what we are getting ATM. However, as soon as ED start to abuse its obvious monopoly position (that's thankfully not the case yet) I will be the first to post and attack them here!

So, yes - BE PATIENT, I'm sure they're giving their best ATM :)

No one is forcing you to update.

No offense, but I'm getting allergic to claims like that. I was told the same by Sobek some time ago and here's what I answered:

Oh, and by the way, updates are meant to improve the product, so encouraging customers to avoid frustration by not installing them is quite an irony.

Says it all I guess.

You bought a product, not exclusive insight in ED's office.

True, but we bought a working product. In case of the particular FFB bug (which is my biggest concern), we're waiting for over three months now. I've bought G940 almost exclusively for DCS, and now it serves just for collecting dust. There was no disclaimer screaming "Logitech G940 not supported with this product".

I gave ED my money for their product and now I cannot use it in a way that meets my expectations.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for ED's efforts on fixing the netcode (even though I don't fly online). It's a work that MUST be done and the sooner it gets done, the better.

But please, don't be surprised that lots of people gets frustrated. And calling them trolls because of that does not help matters either.

+1 If they are paying customers they should be able to express themselves either way, within reason.

Me, personally, I have decided to settle in for the wait, but I believe everyone here is entitled to express their opinion. Again within reason.

What are you waiting for?

Unless you have real problems , reading whats written on the box when you buy it , you dont need me to answer ..... and 60 odd pages in this thread and numerous other threads .

So , your argueing that it does work as advertised obviously ?

^ Some people are always moaning - just be patient, imagine introducing separate SP and MP patches, brings in a whole new patch management, doesnt make any sense.

This isnt EA/Dice with separate teams for SP and MP.

Not moaning, not complaining... just eagerly awaiting DCS updates. Heck, I am willing to pay for new stuff, too. :)

And no, it's not about MP vs SP patch management. I just believe that netcode shouldn't holdup other content. I bet if it was the other way round, e.g. "we haven't gotten the 3D cockpit for plane XYZ just right, so we're pushing the netcode update back until further notice", people would be up in arms. :)

Long story short -- there's nothing wrong with incremental patches.

the netcode was to the point where it required all of the attention to get it right.

They released the whole DCS A-10C when they thought it was ready , look what happened , and we're still waitin over a year later .

Huh?

DCS A-10C v 1.1.1.1 was stable.

People need to realize, re-structuring everything and merging them all into one package isnt a 1 step transition.

Exactly, some hotfix update would be nice :( There is a great solution for BS trimming (thx Averagepilot), but Hog and Musang cant be trimmed correctly due to the FFB axis reversal.

btw, Averagepilot's FFB effects are great, feels more natural than default BS center spring effect. It adds a friction and damper effects that are great!

DCS A-10C v 1.1.1.1 was stable.

1.1.1.1 had its own share of multiplayer instability issues as I recall. More random and less frequent than 1.2.2 perhaps.

With XBOX 720 they plan on stopping second hand game sales, well there better be a returns policy for games which just dont deliver.

The plan is to eliminate UNAUTHORIZED Used sales, as they:

A. Violate EULA

B. Steal the Cost of the License from the Publisher/Developer.

TBH, if you real the EULA in the Xbox 360 Games books,

The License holder Does NOT have permission to Re-sell or Transfer the License to another 3rd party or to another retailer per terms of the Private Use License Agreement.

When GameStop Orders 100 copies of say, Halo 4.

They get 100 Copies from the Publisher via Consignment. They do no own the copies, they are on CONSIGNMENT, Meaning the Game Box, Book, Disc, and LICENSE still belong to Microsoft Games Studios.

Every Copy they sell at $59.99, they Pay a pre-determined unit cost back to the publisher.

The problem GameStop and everyone else is overlooking,

is when the customer buys the game, They arent PAYING for the DISCs, they are actually PAYING for the End User License to Play it..

When joe shmoe plays the game for a few days, and gets all the GamerScore/Achievements from it, and decides to take it back to EB. EB Gives JoeSmoe say $10 for it.

Then EB turns around and Sells it for $49.99-$54.99

Since EB Bought the copy back that's already been "Paid for" in their eyes, they Keep 100% of the Price they re-sell it for.

The problem with that?, They Dont OWN it.

EB Games is re-selling a used copy for 75-95% of the Retail cost and keeping 100% of the sale, and not Paying the Publisher/Developers their cut because the Game exchanged hands between the Customer and the Retailer.

Which is the #1 Reason game prices are going up again to $69.99.

So basically GameStop and the customers are both Violating the EULA.

How MS plans to stop it? (And Sony is gonna do the same thing).

With the Game Disc, you will get a redeemable code card to enter to activate the game.

Once used, that code is no longer valid.

SO even if EB buys the game back and re-sells it used,

The 3rd owner who buys it used, will also have to purchase a License to use it from Xbox Live/PSN.

OR,

GameStop can Buy an Allotment of Redeemable License Code Cards from the Publisher for discounted price of the Original License Cost. and Place those cards in the Used Games.

They are trying to stop GameStop (and other companies) from being able to continue to re-sell their product used without getting their cut.

Stable ..... your having a laugh !!!

Comparatively Speaking.

MP is Stable on 1.1.1.1 Compared to 1.2.2

We didnt have to neuter missions to maintain connections.

On that Note, I have more Disconnect Problems in BF3 than I Do in DCS. and that Game prolly grossed 1000x the amount DCS did in 2012.

If Sony and Microsoft had a reasonable price on the game 95% would buy new games instead of used ones. They are trying to solve a problem they created for themselves with an even worse business model.

Be honest and do good shit is the way to go if you wanna be successful and respected.

the Jump to $59.99 was because of the money the Publishers were losing to 3rd party license exchanges. it has nothing to do with MS, or Sony.

it's EA, Ubisoft, Redstorm, whoever, asking the Console Designers to integrate a way to protect their Software from continued 3rd Party EULA Abuse.

MS and Sony Agreed, because, without Developers and Publishers, they have no games; No games, No Console Sales.

Babbages, Electronics Boutique, Game Stop, whatever they call themselves next year, have been re-selling games used LONG before the $59.99 Pricepoint introduction, Long before $49.99 for that matter.

Babbages was selling used PC Games as early as 1994, Shoot I think I bought Top Gun Fire At Will (PC) Used for $14.99, from Babbages, Same with Longbow and LBII.

I dont see EB Selling Used Copies of Windows 8, roflmao, Why? because they cant.

It has gone out of hand though. TBH.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

1.2.3 Update

Over the weekend, the test team once again hammered on network play and the results looked good with no crashes; although, not as many participants as we would have hoped for took part. Today we are building a new release installer for 1.2.3 that we hope to release soon.
