I just try to share the little I know ...

When I tried it back in the day I could only get NVGs to work with the attack aircraft in the FC3 set (i.e. Su-25A/T, A-10A). None of the fighters would accept the commands.

That said, if the plane will accept NVGs to begin with, then the mod will work.

All the other aircrafts you list have 6DOF cockpit and I think that is the factor that makes it possible. I will try ;)

If all seems ok, perhaps you do a DCS Repair and then install the mod directly from the original zip file again - according to the installation instrucitons, so that really nothing is amiss.

This worked, thanks!

I haven't read thru this whole topic so excuse me if it's already mentioned. I'm using this mod for a long time now without any trouble except for the IR pointer beam which somehow looks like shit thru the NVGs. Kind of like a 10 pixel wide dark green line drawn in MS Paint instead of like a green lightsabre blade.. Anybody know what I mean and know how to fix this?

If now just someone would invent something so that we could actually see what you see - like a painting of your computer monitor, or a fax ... :D

So, if I understand you correctly, it is not something the NVG mod does, but in general the width of the laser beam? What would you expect it to be - thinner? But wouldn't that defy it's purpose - to point at things and to be visible from thousand feet distance?

Posted

You didn't understand me correctly then...

What I'm saying is, the vanilla beam has a sort of glow around it, more or less creating the impression it is a light/laser beam. With the NVG mod applied, the beam looks like a rough line of pixels and that's about it.

If you Google RL pictures of IR pointers seen at night thru NVGs, they look more like the beam as seen thru the vanilla NVGs than like the beam as seen thru the modded NVGs. It's not a huge problem but I'd like to know if this can be easily fixed.

Doesn't appear to work on free SU-25T, no other modules present for me.

I installed everything, the line in graphics.lua was already changed (came like that), all I did was paste the "Su25A/T adaption" from page 20 into "C:\Users\Administrator\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\su-25T\keyboard\keyboard.diff.lua", as I understand, it uses key '5' to activate the NVG, yet nothing happens in game. I tried stock settings of the mod and I tried the ones that the NVG Mod tweaker gave me. Launched the game, mission editor, launched a night mission on the SU25T (already airborne and all powered up, no loadout) and no effect.

Extract the default.lua from the attachment below into DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Su-25T\Input\su-25T\keyboard and you will have NVG capability

(5 to activate and ralt+rwin+H to raise brightness and rctrl+rwin+h to lower)

Did you have any luck good sir? Has anyone else found other files that might have to be edited to make this possible? I'm going to hunt through the A-10As non-config .lua if nobody else has done so already, and try to pinpoint the NVG code that allows it to be enabled... I REALLY want NODs in my Eagle!

I just had to reinstall DCSW but can't remember what the term is for NVG in setting up in the options menu, only thing I could see was Gain goggles on and off but that doesn't work. Anyone help please. I've been using this mod for ages too, just can't remember. Ta

Would it be possible to put these on an F-15? It might have been mentioned but the thread has become rather extensive..

EDIT: Nevermind- saw on page 20 that it wont work for A2A.

Shame.. The mod looks great!

Tested the goggles for the F-15C again and it's still not working, DCS 1.2.11. Hoping fore some goggles with at least one of the F/A-18 models

At present the ILS is not working on a lot of airports so it's impossible to get the F-15C landed safely in the dark.
