It would be better to have an E-3 or A-50 AWACS rather than a transport.

Can you imagine going online to a multiplayer server in your C-17??? :D You'd get shot down in about 2 and a half seconds. At least an AWACS would be theoretically useful. Who knows, maybe a C-5 galaxy could be useful, delivering AMRAAM's and R-27's to airbases.

I'd have to agree with Night. an AWACS aircraft could be insanely useful compared to a C-17... if the feature to allow multiple people per aircraft ever is released. AWAC's could become VITAL to air operations. Be honest. Trying to talk to the computer AWAC's might as well be the same as standing in the middle of medical waste.

Man I could really use a navigator right about now.

It began with DCS Huey. Now you want DCS C-17 and soon we'll have DCS Cessna 172.

Would love a E3 or tanker as well :) But C-17 or any other transport would be nice to. I would escort that for sure to make sure he can deliver his payload. But carrying paratroopers and see them bail over the ntarget area should be a must making that aircraft. Would b a awesome sight seeing 100 AI jump out and land to start their mission.

Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

On the one hand I would say the more HiFi modules the better. On the other I would point out its a strategic lift asset in a game with no strategic element and nothing to transport thus falling into the trap of Huey and Mi-8; transport assets with nothing to transport. Digital Combat Simulator. I'm just saying it would be nice to fly some new modern HiFi fixed wing assests.

C130, would be a winner !. I have to wonder about the nay Sayers, why waste your time writing. It's like a forum question that is answered by the first post saying "I don't know the answer to your question" pointless. More platforms the better, Cessnas, Pipers, Cargo, it expands the opportunity for people with imagination to forge new scenarios or just enjoy the environment.

A lack of imagination is the precursor to a "no never" post when we discuss such things, Can't wait for C130, C17, Antonov, Boeing, Illyushin etc etc

So unless someone wholeheartedly agrees with a topic then they should not post? In which case why ask the question if all you want is people nodding in agreement. Why post to agree? In fact why have forums at all?

The word forum is a formation of Greek and Latin words for public gathering place, often used for debate and/judicial hearings.

There isn't anything wrong with some constructive criticism. I wouldn't expect everyone here to simply acquiesce to my views on what should/should not be in DCS, but if I pose a question its because I want to hear all sides of the debate.

A buddy and me, currently fly Huey missions since the module is out and we were barely able to land. Lately missions with scripted/automated CASEVAC, Troop insertion/extraction or CSAR have been released by the community.

The greatest show ever! One chopper is going shooter and suppress enemy troops (ok, mission designer needs to balance a lot here) the other Huey lands pick up casualties and race against the clock to bring him to a MASH before he dies.

Even without decent enemy contacts this is far from a trap, or useless.

Another mission uses two hueys to perform a series of tasks during a mission. Our AI ground troops messed up big time and enemy was able to get his SA-10 site active... we finished our mission flying low, I mean really low... nice watching SAMs rushing over your head barely missing.:D

I would love to see DCS C-17. As stated before the more aircraft the better everything from cargo, tankers, and even civilian add to the entire experience. It will also entice more aviators to fill our servers.

Personally I'd love to see the HC-130P included into DCS especially once we're given multiplayer single aircraft multi-crew position capabilities it'd be the ultimate test of teamwork to accomplish goals. I'd have fun flying around especially refuelling the helicopters. That being said C-17 all day! Bring it.

Just because it is big and unarmed doesn't exclude that it could make for some fun mission challenges. Assuming it was able to model some sort of paratroop drop it would be easy to envision mission designers (those guys are so talented!) creating a mission where you are to fly a low level penetration mission to drop paratroopers or Special Forces on an enemy airfield. Flying low at NOE..with a CAP above and enemy (online/MP?) tasked with defending the target area. Could be a great and tense mission. Could also see applications for escort, evac, and supply drop missions with lightly defended airfields or bases or similar.

For me, the UH-60 missions in Longbow 2 were some of the most satisfying and challenging. Kill totals don't necessarily always have to equate to entertainment value IMHO. Bring on the transport and utility aircraft I say and let's get some of that massive civil aviation FSX/X-Plane crowd into our "World"...

main problem has be actual poligon limit (150000) to big models (bombers, cargo airplanes, ships) and 2-3 2048x2048 textures. That model have a very high poly count (and need pay for them)

That model is not hi-poly, there are 97K triangles only. Check this out here

Precisely, it's not like ED is going to run out and buy that model for DCS World.
