I'm getting bored of the 1 vs 1 chicken run, guestimating optimal time for missile launch then doing 180 and hoping my missile gets lucky.

Also, i often lose targets in the mountains, and never find them again, or worse, they find me.

Give me tips please.

thx man !

Perhaps its because you act like a child???

You came into our server recently.... got shot down straight away and started saying 'This server is Sh!t'..... then rage quit.

You then went into the 51st server and started b!tching about the teams being uneven and started getting abusive in there, saying their server was 'crap' and then guess what........ You rage quit again!!!!

Then.........you posted the other day saying 'MP STILL SUCKS' or something like that and then changed the title to something a bit more grown up after perhaps the penny dropped that it might you that isn't up to scratch, not the MP scene

Here is one small tip....... if you don't want to fly out numbered in a server that's stacked...... Leave.... and join another server with better team numbers...... not exactly rocket science is it?

You should consider acting like an adult if you want to ask big boy questions... I know for sure I am no hurry to help you get any better until you check your attitude....

Use TS and try to team up with your coalition members, it's far more rewarding than hunting bandits down alone.

There is no set in stone rule for that, every situation is different and requires an appropriate response. You said it yourself: "Situational awareness". It's all about your awareness on what is happening around you at a given time. This is what will make you pick a good or a bad choice. Keep practicing and debriefing on Tacview then you will learn from your mistakes and improve.

If you loose someone in the mountains, best is to extend and come back later with a better SA, if you want to press, then at least dive deep low into the mountains and prevent him to see you. I would go for the safer choice and avoid the cat and mouse game.

EDIT: Also what Maverick said, attitude first and foremost.

thx man !

-_-

What's with the sense of entitlement? I checked the thread just to see what it was about but didn't have any tips for you so I didn't post. Guess that makes me a bad person.

1) Learn to play

2) Stop sucking.

You asked for tips, so them is it, and appropriate for your attitude ;)

Gaining superior SA is matter of much thought, study, practice and patience. It requires you knowing your own limitations, the limitations of your plane, and those of your opponent. It requires some tactical thought and planning well ahead of time, not twitch-play. You're not going to get any of it with 'tips'.

Give me tips please.

Well, it went a little bit better today.

It's been quite a while an i guess i thought it was harder than i remembered .

Or maybe the enemies are less stupid today , who knows.

I also learned i should stay at the carefull method a little while longer, i guess this can't be forced by brute force practice like shall we say, "other games" . ( "twitch play " :d )

Yep, patience and following the plan (and of course being fluid enough to alter it without panicking) are what make SA and make SA work, among other big and small factors.

But lack of patience is certainly a big killer.

How often do people disconnect before killl is counted ?

Just made 4 kills (confirmed) but only one was rewarded to me :-(

I've seen this complaint a lot, sometimes it's justified but a lot of the time it's the shooter thinking that just because his target gets splashed that must mean his missile made the kill, but they don't take into account that there could be another 4 or 5 friendlies all thinking exactly the same because they're all shooting at the same bandit. Seeing an aircraft plummet into the ground is the only confirmed kill there is, on a public server it is impossible to confirm that kill as yours unless the text god says so.

I use Tacview to confirm kills if the text god is AFK.

No no, i said "confirmed" , i saw it very clearly in tacview.

One of them my missile hit first , then 10 seconds later he gets hit by another missile from a team mate and he gets the kill :_(

The other 3 just ... I mean they were very clean kills ... but nothing .

Ah doesn't matter that much, i just think it's lame that people would exit, JUST to DENY the other person a kill . It's like quickly suiciding when you know you're about to get owned. Makes no sense to me

Also note that it is not a Battlefield or Call of Duty game where personal kill/death ratio's and stats turn normal people into arrogant and selfish monsters...

You shouldn't care so much about who is credited with the kill anyway... Just that he is no longer a threat to anyone of your team.

I believe the satisfaction ought to be derived from the knowledge that you've decimated their ego and reduced their emotional state to something approaching juvenile because you made them rage quit.

Thats not just a tactical victory, its a strategic and moral victory. You drove a bandit from the skies and the server, you exacted a total victory over his will to play the game. I can't think of any more total victory other than perhaps making him so mad he breaks his joystick. :P

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
